This isn't making sense to me. I assume by fitting a bit too snugly, you mean the inside of the wheel was rubbing or coming too close to something. Grinding anything (not sure exactly what the "core" is) would pull the wheel further in, making that fit even tighter.

Yes, I realize that. I could have a Ferrari today too, but I chose a Mercedes. :p

Sorry, let me try it again. When we put the front wheels on, they were very tight fitting, which required an extra effort to take the wheels back off. My mechanic then lightly grinded the centers of the wheels enabling it to slip right on, and off with ease.
