is $493 a fair price for lowering?
Im in the process of lowering my 03' E320 .... I was quoted a price of $493 out the door for eibach pro kit. The breakdown is as follows: $235/springs, $150 labor, $100 alignment, $13 taxes ...... is this a fair price?
Also I noticed that the back end may drop lower than the front end, but the front end rides a lot higher ????? Is this normal? Will it balance out at the end?

That's a decent price considering they're throwing in alignment. Where is this shop if you don't mind posting?
In stock form the rear rides higher than front. eibach lowers the rear more to compensate for this so your car will be evenlly lowered when done.

I am in the same process: $300 fit (6 hours labor), eibach $290 plus shipping....did not even bother to ask the alignment costs
they were also mumbling about the spacers/perches on top of the springs that have different heights...
maybe i should just buy a e500

Have you considered coilovers?
They might be more, but I would consider new shocks with the springs. The shocks stablize the movement of the car. I would think that replacing the springs and leaving older more worn shocks may be counter productive.
Coil springs would solve that issue. If not the coil springs, ask them about new shocks and see if they think it is necessary, after all they are in there anyway.
A good set of coils will be about $1,000 to 1,500 and many have adjustable ride heights. The price you quoted seems low unless you mean per wheel.
Good luck
