Where are the spare tire lug bolts stored?

I checked out the spare tire and tools this morning and could not find the spare tire lug bolts. Where should I be looking for them? I noticed a small *empty* compartment in the left rear corner of the spare tire well.

Even though the spare wheel looks different, it does use the same lug bolts.

I always wondered what that small empty compartment was meant for? Any clues?

My trunk has a nifty little spot that a quart of oil fits in. Is that what you're talking about?

Assumption was based upon experience with SLK

That's good to know. My R170 and R171 both included spare tire wheel lug bolts that were shorter than the standard bolts.

I actually use that compartment for my regular lug bolts for the spare since my aftermarket wheels require different length lug bolts.

Hey Atssytems,

Thanks! Took me forever to update my Sig. No time with our little ones, and just lazy. How have you been, and have you put the AMG wheels back on after the winter. I'm sure you have, but out here in the bay area, we have been having rain in May which is pretty rare.
