Just broke down again today.
in the middle of the downtown street waiting for help from dealer!! This is the worst car I have ever owned in my entire life!! A MB will definitely NOT my next choice if I get rid of this junk when the warrantee is expired!!
each time it got to the dealer, it started back up. And kept telling me my fuel cap was not on tight enough.. HA!
I won't buy the 1st year model of a new model , either .
I think a 03' model is the 2nd year after MB launched W211 in 2002. But it still lets me down!!
B.Rgds.,
Steven

It is quite common now to read of folks getting their 2006 car next month???
The fuel pump is not a commonly reported defect on the 211, although the only big importer of this specific model is the US. At a guess I would suggest the earliest produced 211 petrol 320's have exactly the same fuel pump as the very latest models (before they were replaced by the 350)
This is no consolation to someone that evidently has had two declared defective??
I wonder if it really is the pump???
Intermittant faults are clearly the worst to diagnose, but if the vehicle is still under warranty I would not be very happy if my complaint was ignored though. In my opinion the suspect part\parts should be replaced.

A cool damp morning in Torquay
Back when Dodge Ram was the hot new thing, sometime around 98 as I recall, the model year only lasted into mid-March before they switched to the next year. You could buy the "next" year model in March...
May God bless all of MB owners ( especially the NEW model owners) to stay away from breaking down on the street again!!
