My replacement for the W211

As one of the resident whiners about the W211 - I'm driving something that is much better suited to my needs. A few of you were kind enough to ask what was going to be next so here it is. '04 CPO 6MT Audi S4.

Picked it up yesterday and it is very entertaining for a semi-practical car.

Not exactly apples and oranges with a W211, more like oranges and tangerines ... It's a very nice car, as is a Benz C55 or a BMW M3, but aimed at a different market from the W211. I personally would be very happy with a car having the size and power of your S4, and with a manual transmission too, but my wife is the daily driver of our E500 and she likes its size, having been in a head-on accident not too long ago.

What does "CPO" stand for?

I am sure that car is a blast to drive, but the interior leg room for the driver has something left to be desired. I took a really hard look at buying an A4 not too recently and I just did not like my leg hitting the side of the console.

Thanks, all. I like the vibe in the forum.

Definitely not a good car for those who are long in the inseam. I am not one of those lucky people.

Fits me just fine.

Clearly a different breed of cat than a W211. Most of the time it's just me or the wifey and I in the car but every once in a while I have to haul some clients around.

I like having a factory warranty until 2010 or 100K miles - and yes - electronics are covered. :p

I can't wait till the new M5 arrives. I haven't driven one yet, probably won't get to unless I buy it, but it's in my sights. That S4 is definitely sweet though. Keep us informed of the reliability.

Thanks for the well-wishes, all.

I'm hoping the S4 will be better than my E. I was going to get the IS350 but a. couldn't wait and b. wasn't getting a guarantee on getting a manual tranny from the dealer.

New M5?!? Wow. That is going to be insane. Did you see the 5th Gear episode with the M5? I had to change underwear after viewing it.
