Yes I Did The Work myself...Its Not that hard..With The Correct Tools!
One Can bleed the brakes without using the star....Just cycle the sbc pump...
Open a door or pump the brake pedal to cycle the pump....Used OE MB Brake fluid
I Checked for any codes and None were found

Any issues yet? I hope all is fine on the swap? As I just finish the E55 brakes swap to my E500. Lots of work but man it looks cool. I used the motive power bleeder and it works like a charm. so far after a 2 mile drive no fault codes.

The brakes are Upgraded to the 390MM Front with Eight piston calipers
Rears have the four piston Calipers with matching rotors ...The larger Front Brakes Require 19s for clearance
The Brake Upgrade was done without any Problems...all OE MB Parts used
If You are NOT Sure on what you are doing PLEASE have a MB Tech Do the Work...As SBC Brakes are Not a Item to (PLAY) with!

My shop did my Brembo swap without sweat. PM me if you need someone for the install.
BTW, AMG brakes are still for sale.

Thanks Mark
I did the front already, I actually drilled the stock spindle to accept the larger 14mm bolts that bolt the caliper mount to the spindle.
As for the rear, I wondered if you had any tips before I began the job.
Thanks

[quote=MARK CUMMINS;2115671]I am sure they only require 18's for clearance as the original e55 had 18 AMG wheels.

Instead of getting the E55 brake setup, why don't you get the Brembo brake kit. Its probably better than the E55 setup, since the bremo's will be made for the E500, instead of trying to get an E55 setup to fit on an E500. You'll most likely end up paying less for these aftermarket brakes versus paying a dealer to buy the E55 brake set.
BTW, "dropped" you mentioned that you are rolling on 20"s. I am considering putting 20's on my E500 as well, what kind of wheels are you on? Do you have any issue of rubbing or any other problems?
