Anyone recently purchase the extended warranty?

I'm ready to purchase and Lisa at Chico Courtesy supposedly has the best

deals. Is this still the case as of now?

Also if I purchase from her (she's in California) is there sales tax from an out

of state sale (I'm in Florida)

I know the prices went up on the 3 year extended to around $4100- so what

kind of quotes are people getting whether from Lisa or not.

Thanks everyone

Gary

I checked with my local dealer here in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area on the Extended Warranty on the new E-Class 3 days ago......$4100....exactly what you were quoted.

You might want to double check, but I believe that you will have to pay the sales tax in the state you live in.

With the extended warranty, I decided to buy the 3 yr / 100,000 miles package. I was able to get it for just under 3 grand. The only reason why I purchased it was because if I do not use the extended warranty I get a full refund. Dealers have a large margin on these "extended warranties" so try to negotiate the price down.

What are all the options? 3/4/5 yr? $1000/year basically?

Gary,
here's what I put on another post:

MB Dealer #1: (uses RepairMaster/Warrantech Automotive)
$3,000 = 4yr/100k mi/$100 deductible
$2,700 = 4yr/100k mi/$200 deductible

$2,800 = 3yr/100k mi/$100 deductible
$2,500 = 3yr/100k mi/$200 deductible

$3,200 = 5yr/100k mi/$100 deductible
$2,900 = 5yr/100k mi/$200 deductible

$3,400 = 6yr/100k mi/$100 deductible
$3,100 = 6yr/100k mi/$200 deductible

Just got this info:
MB Dealer #2: (Courtesy Motors, Lisa)
$3490 = 5yr/addtl 50k mi/$100 deductible

Acutally Lisa was promoted to Sales Mngr, so she referred me to David or Mike in the extended warranty sales dept.

(edit) Both sets of quotes seems kinda high to me. At first glance, I have to say that the Courtesy Motors coverage seems to cover more parts than the Warrantech, e.g EGR, seat restraint systems, remote control receivers and transceivers, etc.

slvstar,
Dealership is Rusnak Mercedes (Arcadia and Pasadena, CA). Contact I have been dealing with is Monique Esparza, 626.462.3022, mesparza@rusnakautogroup.com. She has been very responsive and informative with quotes, coverage, and exclusions. Saying that I'm still leaning towards Courtesy Motors (aka Lisa).

Let me try this again:

Dennis:

Courtesy wants $3490 for an additonal 5year/100k mile $100 deductible

That doesn't sound like the genuine mercedes extended warranty.

What did they quote for the genuine mercedes additional 3 year $0 deduct

99c280sport, there was a 3yr/100K, not quite sure on the deductible Lisa (Courtesy) offered. I wanted something longer term, so only requested a quote on the 5 yr, additional 50k, and since I'm at 42K now, will only get me to 92K. I requested even 6 or 7 year total 100K miles, but Courtesy did not have any to offer.

I see a lot of posts on extended warranty, and the prices and offerings differ if you buy before the 1yr from original purchase date, and those that are buying after the 1yr period. As far as I can tell (and I could be wrong), it seems that the 3yr/100K is what is offered when you initially buy the car. The other options (e.g. as low as 3 yr to as long as 7 yr) seems to be more for those who opted to waited to purchase an extended warranty after the 1yr deadline.

I still haven't purchased one yet, so any help/info is more ammo in the pocket to negotiate a lower price.

Whichever one is available (1 of 5)
My 2004 E500 is within the 1st year. I just talked to Sabrina of RBM of Atlanta, and she quoted me 3year/100,000 mile is $2380 if I purchase before my anniversay date (which is the end of August 2005). The way she explained to me is that whichever the original manufacturer warranty runs out first (years or miles), the MB extended warranty service takes over. I also called third party companies that sell extended warranty, and found out that third-party warranties only run concurrently with existing manufacturer warranty. Third party companies do not offer warranties that starts after manufacturer warranty expires, only MB delear offered extended warranty that starts after original manufacturer warranty runs out.

I bought a 2002 E320 while on vacation in Florida. I had to pay the Ohio sales tax. My MB Extended CPO warranty was $2450 for 3yrs/100K.
