Did MBUSA buy back your vehicle?
The only exception would be those vehicles that were exchanged because of the navigation fiasco in 03.
Anyway, I told them that my wife informed me that she would never set foot in the car again as she was now afraid of it. I pressed for a buyback and got 1. First offer was $35,000. I had paid $43,000 16 months earlier. I fought it out and the district rep upped the offer to $40,000. I ordered a 2003 E, with nav, and they ended up trading that out because of the Nav fiasco. On top of that, when the replacement came in there was a problem, and they ended up having to order me a 2004 replacement E. Which we have now for 20 months and is doing OK, except for a recurring AC problem.
Thats my story.

I'm assuming that "leather seating surfaces" means that the portion that touches your "bottoms" and your back are leather, but that the sides of the seats and doors are MB-Tex.
I'd appreciate your clarification. Thanks in advance!

If you go to MBUSA.com and do the vehicle comparison of a CDI with a BMW or Cadi etc... go to the seats and it says Leather..
Now, if you ask a salesman... 9 out of 10 will tell you "Standard" is leather inserts front AND BACK. well, as of 2005, it turns out (and the MB CDI brochure actually says) the rear seats are entirely made of MB-tex..
that is a lie, and I want them to make good on it. I'm working it now, but so far they're stone walling me.
edit: This should be a good link to where it says leather seats are (standard):
