Whichever one is available (1 of 5)
I hear a lot Mercedes owners drive their cars 10-15 years(including myself). How many Lexus owners have you heard driving their cars more than 5 years?

Here is a link where Accord is compared to CDI and look at the size vs. weight... how do you explain it?Accord vs CDI dimensions.

and don't tell me it's the CDI's iron bloc.. since the Accord is all steel to off set that.

I guess we can agree to disagree...

Guys,

Don't mean to hijack this thread. I'll leave it here, you really can't compare the honda to a MB based on weight - the fact that the honda costs 1/3 as much as the MB should be factored into the equation - don't you think?

Regarding people driving lexus' for 10-15 years - well considering lexus has only been around for 15 years i'd say that its kind of unfair to make that claim given no data - BUT - i can tell you any website you go to will tell you the cost to maintain your [our] MB is much higher than the cost to maintain a lexus - and that's a fact.

At the end of the day, i'll say it again, the E500 to me is one of the finest cars on the road. 300HP and AWD - wow. IF the freaking MB engineers would just give me a top notch navigation (like Honda's), blue tooth that doesn't cost an arm & a leg, and steering wheel radio controls that actually work, i would say this is the best car on the planet!

Enjoy the rides.

It wasn't my intent to compare the two, it would indeed be unfair.. but I guess my initial point was that the additional price of an MB has substance behind it.. or more over, when two cars occupy the same volume and one weighs as much as 500lbs more... that's a bit telling of something is it not? Unless the heavy car was made of lead!

And thanks for those pics.. I'm torn on getting them installed, but if I can get body color (at least 1/2 of them) it would make it easier to decide.

I tend to agree with the word well made for a Mercedes means Safety and that make the cost premiums of a Merceds almost a bargain, at least to me. That's why MBs are usually heavier than it's Japanese competitors, 400 lbs more steel sure sounds a lot stronger than the Honda.
