Congrats NJ.. I like it a lot! Great upgrade, and frankly I wasn't ever that impressed with the R... just to American in it's design and market aim.. The S is the King of the MB's..

The AMG package looks great. It's a great Luxo-Cruiser. In your case, I'm sure you'll find the S much more enjoyable to drive than the E. You'll probably get more looks in the S than your previous E. 
You'll be pimpin' on the strip. 
All kidding aside, it's a beautiful car.
Are you getting Chrome Rings for the new S? lol (I remember when you were asking about them for your E) :p

Look out Jack! Car and Driver just gave the new S-Class a glowing report.
As for your recent loss, I think that if I were in that position I'd miss many things including the fun of convincing your wife that you really need something you don't need.
Since we drove our 190D for 17 years and I'm still driving our 14 year old 300E, you can tell I'm not too good at the game. We did get a new E320 but I never drive it. I like my old one better.
