I couldn't get my CDC to read my DVDR filled with mp3s so I have been using CDRs to play MP3s. The issue is that I can fit about 150 mp3s on these data cd's but the CDC as well as the CD player I think can only play the first 99... which sucks because in alphabetical order that cuts off Y (for Young Jeezy).

That's nearly 600 songs .... anything more than that is seriously iPOD territory.

I agree, buy an iPod and then you won't have any reason to complain

1. Despite being technologically advanced cars MB is out of touch with consumer electronics. It took them years just to acknowledge that people may want to use their own phone and service providers.
2. Only use CDRs....at <10 cents each who cares? You have separate CD sets for car and home.....correct?
3. Buy another player/storage gizmo.
4. Get real, you're complaining because you can only hold 600 songs instead of 900

That decission was solely made by MBUSA and not by MB - MB already offered phonekits with free-provider choice for many, many years...MBUSA does not equal MB.

99 songs per CD...any idea how far one can drive while listening to 600 songs???

It does to me, the person who started this thread, and a very large part of their market.

I concur.

P.S. "600 songs," yes that is true. However, I don't know about you guys but after a while, i tend to listen to the same CD over and over again and shuffle the tracks just to get some randomness but 99 songs can get old very quick. And while it is 600 songs, it is very annoying to shuffle CDs with all the breaks in between songs. 600 songs on a cd is a lot more convenient.

MBUSA can even be considered a separate animal. Although DC owned, USA cars are produced differently than the rest of the world. More restrictions, laws, politics, blah blah here.. The Parts catalog even has a whole set of seperate parts for US produced cars. Code 494.

Once again, not to me, or anyone else who purchases their products in the US. It's unfortunate that we can't agree worldwide on manufacturing, build, or safety requirements but I only live in one place....and buy in one place. So to me MBUSA is MB because that is my experience. That being said, when I travel the world MB vehicles all seem the same except for regional differences like what side the driver sits, language where needed, quality of interior refinements, trim, some models, accessories and options available, and model designation/name. Actually, I prefer some of the differences available elsewhere but I don't consider my car any less (or more) an MB.
