So I log into my email to day and get this...

Dear Mr. xxxxxx:

Thank you for your recent correspondence with our colleagues in Maastricht.
After review, they have asked that we respond as Mercedes-Benz USA is
responsible for the distribution of these vehicles in the United States.

We understand your desire to have the Linguatronic/Voice Recognition system
in your vehicle, however, it can only be installed with the cellular phone
system. We realize this is not the response anticipated and solicit your
understanding. Please be assured that your desires and comments regarding
these systems has been shared appropriately within our company.

If we can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact
us directly at (800) FOR-MERCedes (800-367-6372).

The opportunity to correspond is appreciated.

Sincerely,
Christine Dingler

Thank you for your reply, but you may want to double check your source.

I have ALREADY installed Linguatronic/Voice control successfully at the local dealer, as have several friends of mine thru out the nation at various dealers.

Your information is actually incorrect. As is the information at MBUSA.

May I ask, are you asking colleagues in the Engineering departments, or Marketing?

Cordially

Sam XXXXXXXX
What else can I say but...

Good work Sam. Those a.....s are not in touch with the real world. The new Pres of MB should get out into the trenches and see what is going on.

Just to set the record straight, The e-mail from MBUSA quoted above was actually forwarded by myself to Jackie B. and answered by Jackie B. I in fact was never consulted nor privy to the conversation mentioned in this thread. That being said, I encourage you to contact 1-800-FOR-MERCEDES regarding any questions. If necessary ask for me Andrew Webb, if I do not have the answer, I most certainly will help guide you to the correct party.

Thank you,

Best Regards,

Andrew Webb

Thanks for chiming in Andrew. Didn't mean to be so mean spirited, but there have been several occasions where I or other members here contacted MBUSA with technical questions and gotten different answers from the same source, or worse, no answer.

Glad to see you (and by extension MBUSA) are taking this by the horns!
