124 mph was the fastest with the ’03 e320 (101 from Scottsdale to Tempe). No doubt that will be bettered with the CLS while I wave to the guys installing the new 101 cameras (locals will understand) …just because!

140-plus mph on my 98 W210 (chipped ECU, upgrade filter/suspension/wheel). Several times.
100 mph with my 04 W211. All stock, except upgrade to 17" sport wheels.
All were in Interstate 5 (LA-SanFran), or highway 15 (LA-Vegas).
The W210 has V1 radar hard wire in, so I feel more comfortable driving a bit fast.

My record for the CDI is 120mph down on Queen Creek road, (Phoenix area, Arizona USA) road (Indian reservation area), and there was quite a bit of room left on the tach for at least 30 more! Rock solid.
I have driven at 250kph while living in Germany in a rented S class.

I've done 110mph in my E55. Felt pretty cool until a couple of weeks ago when my wife took it up to Michigan for a conference. "How fast did you go?" I asked. "I was running late. I hit about 120 I think."

2010 RRS ; BMW K1200R; 14 E350 ; 14 RRS on order
Hit 138 mph in my E320 on I95 in NV. That took a while. That was with 19" wheels so if you do the calc its really 142 mph since the speedo is off due to wheel size.
About an hour later I got pulled over doing 95, if he only knew
125 mph on motorcycle
If you want pure unadultrade speed testing in the US, there's nothing better than Death Valley in the winter time. No one around for miles. Feels pretty safe overal. Of course if you happen to crash no one will find your for hours.

You big pus!
A whopping 95 on I8 headed to San Diego in October. Family loaded up, all giddy with joy while going on vacation.
2002 E320, gas motor, no mods, stereo on full blast
Km/h I have no idea nor desire to convert it, sorry.

What an interesting question . . .
Back when I lived in Germany my Porsche 930 (1985 911 Turbo) was a total moster. I could only get it up to about 260 Km/hr on the track since it was too curvy (that is about 160 MPH). On Sunday mornings I could cruise on the Autobahn and get it up to about 292 Km/hr (about 192 MPH). Looking back at that time, I was 25 years old and quite stupid and lucky at the same time.
I also had a 1988 Mercedes 190E 2.3-16 5-speed that I would routinely cruise at 200Km/hr (124 MPH) and could top out at about 245 Km/hr (151 MPH). I once was able to keep a speed of about 200 for about 1 hour without hitting traffic or speed limits! I still got about 20 MPGs out of that tank.
At the same time I still had my 1991 300E in the US and I too it to Montana (where the speed limits were "safe and prudent"). The 300E would even out at about 141 MPH (228 Km/hr). It was only a 4-speed transmission and the engine was screaming! At that pace, I would run out of fuel before I could reach the next gas station! Otherwise I would have the E at speeds around 100 to 110 MPH for hours at a time. This was great fun and quite safe.
My 1995 Audi S6 is also a screamer. In some undisclosed location where it was as safe as humanly possible to speed in the US (somewhere in a square Western State). I got the clock all the way up to 155 MPH (251 Km/hr. That is quite impressive seeing that it is only a 2.2 liter in-line 5 cylinder and the car is just as big as and heavier than the W211. The car still felt rock-solid.
My W211 E320 4-M has not had its legs stretch out yet. But, one late night I had a moron in a Mitsubishi Eclipse who was on my tail who I had a blast pulling away from while driving up the mountains on I 70. I was hitting about 115 MPH (186 Km/hr) on the up hills (mostly floored and at about 10,000 feet or 3,300 meters in elevation). On the down hills I could easily hit about 130 MPH (210 Km/hr). This was with my barely pushing the throttle. This then proved to me that stupidity is highly contagious. I plan to stretch its legs out when the time presents itself and I am ready to afford bail, court costs, a fine and traffic school.
Oh! Yes, my first car ever; my 1973 VW Super beetle with A/C and a curved windshield could hit 90 MPH (145 Km/hr) if I was driving it downhill and in a hurricane. I guess it was this car that got me hooked on speed (not the drug).
I do have to add that I have been schooled in high-speed track driving and even after great performances I still get nervous and find it very hard to predict what that one car ahead of you will do. My E320 is much slower than my Audi, but it still hauls a$$ enough to get me in a bunch of trouble. I just got my first speeding ticket 12 months ago (except the cameras in Germany that don't count).
These are all anecdotal narrations that could have been erroneously written in the unlikely even that a law-enforcement officer who has jurisdiction in the above stated areas might want to further investigate the actions that are still within the statue of limitation. Bla, bla, bla, this could all be false, but maybe not.

Did 165km/h quite often and still possible to go faster easily if only the traffic not bad on freeway. Mine is only E200K
I'm sure the bigger brother would even more powerful hehehe

Iv'e hit 150mph a few times on the Peage roads through France and topped out at 155mph on the speedo. Seeing as the top speed for mine is 151mph I reckon my speedo might be slightly out

I do 130 mph all time in Germany, that is as fast as my car will go (limited), which pisses me off since it is rock solid and certainly wants to go for more. I actuall saw 133 on the dial, but I was going downhill. I test drove a German spec E350 and did at least 150 mph still solid as a rock. Did 155 mph in a 540i...those little white lines in the middle of the road go by pretty fast! Like others have said, even at those speeds, guys will pass you like you're sitting still!

How does the cdi sound at top speed?
what kind of PRM's were you fetting? close to redline, or lower?
Was it stable? (ok 3 questions)

1. Surprisingly quiet with very little engine or wind noise, thats the problem, easy to lose your license.
2. I can't remember the revs but I know at 120mph it's pulling 3k. I'll double check this figure soon.
3. Very, very stable, again it's so easy to forget the speeds you can easily go in these things.

From what I've read here the limiter is set at 135 mph (at least for my 04), but didn't relize it at that time. It was just coincidence I stopped accelerating at that speed while my ol'lady was ragging on me about my escapade....Funny thing was she never noticed the speed increase until approx 110 mph. I too will agree the car is absolutly rock solid at high speeds.
