bixenon questions -

And yes i tried searching and did get some answers!

I just bought bi-xenons and my questions are as follows:

I'm assuming i won't get the autoleveling - how tough are the new lights to adjust?

Bi-xenon - does that mean both the low & high beams are xenons???

the small lights towards the grill - what exactly is their function?

Other bulbs - while the bumpers off - should i change the bulbs for the fogs??? i had put Piaa's on my vett, is there anything that good using the stock fog housings? I remember driving my vett w/ just the piaa's on (full housing), they were really bright.

That's all for now, thx in advance for any help!

my experience is with the E320s but confident that similar applies in your
model:

- unless OEM light, it probably won't have autoleveling

- depending on who/what you bought, the adjustment knobs may vary. but
if similar to OEM, there should be az/alt adjustment knobs on top of the
housing. so provided that the projector was positioned with a modicum of
precision during assembly, it should only take a few minor tweaks after you
mount it to your vehicle

- i've not come across anything shy of customization in which I've seen two,
HIDs side-by-side. with MB, it has always been H7 for the true high beam
(coexisting with city light)

- euro configuration calls for city lights during use in well lit, city driving at
night in many places....instead of low beams. doesn't apply here in US.

- indeed many folks wishing to upgrade the performance or look/color of
their fogs will take advantage of such a swap-out while the bumper is off.

Nish, your car will NOT have auto levelling feature as the harness and sensors are missing in your car. You will NEED to get the CGW programmed to show the xenon= present. The lights can still be adjusted manually and they are easy to do. Bi xenon means there is ONE bulb with a electronic shutter which will open to allow more light through the projector and this will simulate HIGH BEAM. This ONLY works when headlights are on. If your lights are off, and you want to flash to pass using highbeams, there is a separate halogen bulb to accomplish this as the xenon will take too long to light up.

Don't like to fly?

Why, because you might get in a fatal car accident on the way to the airport? (A whole lot more likely than a plane crash).

Just make sure their are aimed well.... I had mine done at the dealer, and it wasn't done right. It was actually Steve who when he came out adjusted them so they are perfect.. not too high, and not to low.

Got em!

Well,

I had them installed by Sammy (MBDoctor) here in brooklyn. Sam did a great job, i can't tell he took the bumper off. Real nice guy. ANyway, they are a nite & day difference between halogens, but the abrupt drop off of the lights at a certain height takes some getting used to.

I'm seeing what others have reported regarding the different light pattern between the right & left side. My right side appears fairly flat, the left is definately more "L" shapped and lights higher than the right.

Now w/ the hi-beams on, i can see deers from 10 miles away, and my nieghbors might think the suns out

I am going to play around w/ the adjustments a little on the left side to get more road in front of me lit, but overall just a great mod...

'03-ML350 'inspiration'
RE: My '03-ML350 'inpiration'-w/ Bi-Xennon Headlamps

Hello Sunman!

If I may---I would like to ask you few questions.

I brought my vehicle to the dealer 2 wks ago for a change of a headlamp--which wasn't working(no 'white light'). They decided to change both for me b/c the other one "was also checked & seemed to be about time". Two things I was told(after got off the phone w/ them--inquiring the lack of 'whiteness' of the lights): (1) It'll take about a wk for the lights to work properly...(2) The lights will not be projecting the same as they were--first came fr the manufacture. Are they true? If so, how do I get my headlamps(bi-xenon) to project their whiteness/intense purple-ish as it was before--when I first purchased it(brand new)? Would you please be kind to provide me some info on this? Thank-you so much for taking the time to read my message!

Have a pleasant day!

Kind regards,
Reynaldo
