Buzzing Noise

For the last 2 nights I have heard this odd buzzing noise coming from the lower part of the engine. It is on the right side underneath the air filter tube. I removed the tube to take the pictures. It cycles every 20 seconds or so. I took some pictures and also recorded the noise so that all of you can hear it. I am not exactly sure where it is coming from but I pointed out where it sounds like it is coming from. Any help is appreciated. I want to go to the dealer prepared if its a problem. Thanks.

Where I think the sound is coming from.

In the summer I would hear that sound when I would get water in the grill after washing the car for awhile.. Never had a clue what it could be though.

I've heard that occassionally, but it was always when the car was stopped. I remember sitting at the park on a bench near my car, and hearing that noise, right as you mention, about every 20 seconds. Didn't happen often, though, and it was not replicable that I could take it to the dealer to have them look at it.

I have heard that noise on and off and just lastnight I was out in the garage and it was there again.. I too was going to record it and then bring it down the shop, drives me nuts when I am out in the garage working. I had just gotten home and it started about 1/2 hour later. It stopped after 2hrs, Some in past posts had mentioned it being the SBC but like some of you I hesitate to take it to the shop due to it not happening all the time.

Good you got a recording of the sound, perhaps you could play it for the shop and once and for all find out what the flap it is. I am interested as I am sure others that hear the noise are. Unlikley it is suppose to happen

What you're pointing to what appears to be the power steering pump

After I started my car this morning I got out of the car and walked past the front while it was running and heard it again, twice in a row. I am sure it isn't serious..

Checked out ok. I haven't heard the sound for the last day or so. My service is coming up so I am just going to have the tech listen to the sound I recorded.
