MB Factory Extended Warranty
The one year anniversay will be here soon enough, and I want to buy an extended warranty from MB.
Anyone have any experience as to what kind of discount from the published price I could expect?

Call MB Dealers or e-mail them and ask for the "Finance Guy". He's the one who sells the after-sales packs. He'll know you are a serious buyer who will buy from the lowest priced guy & will try to earn the sale on an item that some other dealer will otherwise lose to him.
Don't make a million guys waste their time.... tell them you are buying in 48 hours or sooner, best price wins & do just that.

Warranty Direct is the best non-MB warranty provider out there, and covers all of the same items in their "Luxury Bumper to Bumper" product... I got quoted $3200 on a 3 year and 50,000 extension... (7/100,000).
They are the most reputable after market warranty company from all of the research I've done, and no hard selling when you talk to them on the phone. I decided to wait to buy mine as the price doesn't change much if you wait...
it's also worth noting that (at least in AZ) the warranty is refundable (pro-rata) on the portion you don't use if you sell the car or just change your mind.

CE750,
If you purchase Warranty Direct, where do you take your MB to? Back to dealer, then submit paper for reimbursement?
For $700 more, I would purchase from MB dealer.

This warranty is not a reimbursement warranty.. they pay to the dealer right away and cover 100% of the same failures as the original with no deductible, and no hassles...
I've done some research as I'm about to buy one. From what I understand there is no MB branded extended warranty, they're all underwritten by outside companies.. so the extra $700 you paid is probably the broker fee to the Dealer and not an indication of a better warranty.. Star Mark used cars get a extension from MB I'm told, but I've not confirmed that either.. I'm told MB isn't in the "warranty business" ..

My 12month/100,000 extended warranty is from MB. The contract book is from MB. I have called the MB 1-800 number to ask questions about it. Bad thing about it though is they do not cover the command system.

Ok so that answers that.. I had heard it from the dealer, but then he may have just been trying to sell a more profitable alternative!
As for the Comand not being covered.... the $2900 version of the $3200 warranty by this Warranty Direct doesn't cover NAV, COMAND, and GPS.. but the "Luxury" version for $3200 even covers this, including the screen, etc..
It's really worth taking a closer look at before one pulls the trigger on a warranty; a search of these forums yields quite a few positive reviews of it.

Shop online for the best MB warranty deal!
I paid mine about $3200 for the additional 3 years from my dealer. I learned later(2/2003) from another forum that this is very much a negotiable item! One member from that forum shopped around online and got a real good deal from a West Coast MB dealer for about $2500.
The important thing is to get the warranty from MB dealer. Then you can make a comparison from dealer to dealer. Other warrany companies come and go. You don't want to make a claim 3 years later and found that your warrany is no good anymore.

With that said, If I can get a warranty comparable to their Luxury Bumper to Bumper for $3200 or thereabouts from MB directly, I'm on it like flies on stink!
Anyone know where I can? Cause my local dealers want $4900 for same..
