E 500 Capri Blue--need Help!!!

Hello,

I am planning to purchase a E-500 in a Capri Blue color. Does anyone have any pics or advice on how this color looks? I really wanted a BLK on BLK, but the current deal is very good. I am looking for a pimpin' color and want to know if Capri Blue will do it??????????

THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont have any pics but the color is very nice and rare. I saw JAY55's E55 last week during a MBENZNL install and it was a very nice color. He has capri blue/charcoal. If its a good deal, my advice would be to pull the trigger.

We always say that color is personal opinion. In my opinion a big pimpin' car is Black and not Capri Blue but that is just how I feel. Capri Blue does look great also. If you are happy with the deal and happy with the color then move forward and enjoy!

JAY55 - did it for you; but I will say that I considered this color for about two years...and eventually I didn't choose to go with it - just my choice. This color can look black, nice deep metallic blue, flat dark blue, or purple-highlighted blue - all depending on the light.

These are examples of what I consider the color to be at its best - deep metallic blue. If you do a thread search for Capri Blue, you'll find pics of both an E55 and a C55 which show the flat, dark, and purplish hues -- 'cause if I remember right that is how I found my examples of each of these 'off' hues for this color. I don't like the purplish aspect, so I have gone to Black Opal Metallic and with Platinum Blue on cars where I was previously considering Capri Blue.

We have Capri Blue on our ML, and I must say, it is a wonderful looking color. Like ClayJ said, depending on the light, it will have different shades of blue (which I like). I say go for it.

a mercedes...is a mercedes...is a mercedes. if the deal is good, then the color should be secondary.

If it were me, I'd buy the color I want and not settle for "seconds" because I'm going to save a few bucks.... Every time you see the car with the color you really wanted you'll be kicking yourself. The few bucks you save now will be long forgotten in no time....

that makes absolutely no sense. When im buying a luxury car, my first priority is getting the color and options I want. If I just wanted a good deal above anything else, I wouldnt be looking for a mercedes.

I have Capri Blue and although I do like it, it is a pain to keep clean, especially in the Winter (I also have stone interior which exacerbates this). If I had my druthers, I would have chosen silver or pewter with charcoal. Part of the deal with me getting the car however was that my wife had to pick the color and she was sick of silver as we had two silver cars already.

If you're going with blue, there's nothing like it. But I also agree totally with Hell on a Harley's comments. If you really have your heart set on black and have to pay more for it, spend the money. When I was considering the E320 4Matic vs. the E500 I decided that I didn't want any regrets on power so I went with the 500. Get what you want and just get the deal done. You don't want any long term regrets.

I have had Capri Blue in an S Class and on my current 05 E500. It is absolutely my favorite MB color, as it is not as common as black, but is a VERY dark blue. My personal preference for these cars is a dark color, as I just think they look better. FWIW, Capri is probably about as difficult as black to keep clean. But IMHO, anyone who picks color based on what people say on this or any other forum is as silly as someone who picks a color from the little swatches in the brochures. You really do need to see it in person, and then you can pick whatever YOU think looks best -- to your taste.

well i guess you have money to throw away. some people look at the deal first or is that not allowed anymore. some people have the luxury of picking and choosing the color and options they want, some people don't. when i say a mercedes is a mercedes, it merely means that sometimes sacrifices need to be made if one wants something. Quote: "if I just wanted a good deal above anything else, I wouldnt be looking for a mercedes" make absolutely no sense. your pretty much saying lets go to any dealer bend over pay what they are asking and get reamed. right? NONSENSE
