722.6 Transmission Service Campaign - Pilot bushing A203 540 00 53 or A203 540 01 53 (interchangeable) will be installed.
Campaign 2006020008 MAR06 – 2004-05 Inspect transmission pilot bushing at electrohydraulic unit and replace if necessary. This campaign is only performed in conjunction with an A or B service maintenance or other warranty repair that requires the underbody paneling to be removed as part of the repair. Call your dealer to check VMI to see if your vehicle is involved, here is the VIN range listed in the bulletin (163, 170, 199, 203, 209, 215, 220, 230, and 463 models are also included):
211.026 = A530334 - A669953
211.065 = A530684 – A668796
211.076 = A540836 – A648915
211.082 = X147479 – X170826
211.083 = X150952 – X174273
211.265 = A529437 – A658085
211.282 = X144541 – X172119
211.283 = X151484 – X176198
If VMI claims your vehicle is not involved and you suspect your transmission is leaking (i.e.: low transmission fluid), as I understand it, P-B-27.00/47c MAR06 - Leaking oil in the area of the Electric Connection covers vehicles not included in the campaign and does not have to be combined with another repair or maintenance requiring the underbody panel to be removed.

The transmission pilot bushing may have been installed on the control units with non-tempered sealing rings which may cause a leak to occur.Originally Posted by ATS

Sorry Frank, I didn't realize any E500's had the 5G transmission. Even so, it may be that only certain transmissions are affected. I have a 2004 E320 which doesn't appear to be included in the recall.Originally Posted by Frank Wiesmann

It would appear that if your vehicles transmission is leaking then get it checked.Originally Posted by Konigstiger

Rather than ask, "Is my vehicle included?" surely we would be better off checking to see if... My vehicle is dripping

The bushing is reference is a Wiring Connector and nothing more ?
I have part #A 203 540 02 53 and is called a pilot bushing.
I take it the fluid level is below the connector and a straight install without any special procedures or precautions is required ?
My Pilot bushing is leaking on my '05 CDI and I'm losing fluid.
Is there a way to improve my chances of getting the dealer to help with this?

See attachment, if your VIN is included (confirmed by VMI via dealer) and repair was not previously performed this should be covered. If confirmed VIN is included, repair was not previously performed, and they refuse contact MB.

Just had a comprehensive conversation w/MBUSA. They stated under my VIN nothing was showing, and all campaigns have been fixed. I then had a extended conversation about the matter, seems they were hallbent on nothing showing up. ?????
