Was the dealer in state (if so, Bend, Eugene, Medford, Portland, Wilsonville, or Salem)? What date did you place the order? What was the salesman’s name? Oh, and if I guess correctly what's in it for me?

Sweet! Your car sounds very similar to the one I got - same colors, most features, etc... except it's the 550. Makes me wonder if I should have waited since I just picked it up my 500 on 5/1, but then again, like computers, there will ALWAYS be upgrades.
Did you get the sport package too? What color wood trim did you get?

I didn't get the sport package, even though for 2007 it is a no charge option. I prefer the burl walnut with the black leather, and the sport package only comes with the black wood. I'm at the age where the luxury ride is more important to me. I will probably never move the suspension setting from it's softest setting. I love the ride of my '05 CDI, so I'm sure I will be pleased with the E550.

I thought the black birdseye maple was an "option" ONLY available with the sports pkg, but you could still go with the other wood if you preferred. Is that changed for 2007 or has it always been that way? I preferred the Black Birdseye maple...but I didn't think it was the only choice.
As far as the sports part...the suspension isn't really that meaningful to me either (I was originally going to get the E350), but the double exhaust pipes sealed it for me, and the sportier tires didn't hurt.
BTW...I really like the chrome accessories for the lights and door handles (I may yet get the side mirrors as well). See if you can get your dealer to "throw them in" as part of the sale when you negotiate the price. They're not that much but they enhance the look a lot.

I think the sport package only comes with Black Maple and Burl Walnut only comes on the "non-sport". Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. I am also a fan of rotating tires, and after owning a car with staggered tires, I don't want to do that again.

I just ordered a e350
I ordered an E-350 for european delivery in sept. I am getting the sports package and tried to order burl walnut but was told from Germany that the black birdseye maple is the only one available with the sports package. Unlike 2006 I am dissapointed. Got the dealer to throw in the Black Forrest rally package. Don't yet know the price of the car.

pretty much loaded
The car will be flint gray with black leather and of course now standard is the Glass sunroof, Logic 7 sound, and the 6 cd changer. I ordered P2 which includes dvd nav, Sirius radio, hands free comm. system ,heated front seats, and power window sunshade ( all the above are in P1). But also Bi-Xenon low and high beam with active curve illumination system, keyless, go and headlamp washers, trunk closer , the side sunshades and fold down seats. I am very anxious to get my hans on this car but we don,t pick it up until Sept 4,
