Can't locate a decent one searching here and the i-net. The broshure and little pics on MBUSA don't do justice.

Would appreciate if someone has and/or can provide a pic of black/cognac and/or black/sahara beige. Maybe one of our sponsors would be willing to help.

Thanx

Thank you as well. I discount worldcarfans since the posted pics are Euro models for the most part showing options and colors (interior, designo, etc) not always available in the US.

I always preferred the "beige" with the black upper door panels and the black dashboard. Normally, in the US, when you order the "beige" colour on Mercedes/BMW, they give you a darker beige for the dashboard and upper door panels. Sometimes this darker beige is a purple colour even.

What I really prefer is a Midnight Blue car with a Beige interior with a very dark blue dashboard that's almost black.

Now, I just hope that BMW reads the letter that I wrote to them and offers more colour schemes that I prefer.

I still cannot get used to the US centre console, it just looks so wrong compared to the European version, but each to their own and I'm sure US owners like it.

John,

I sure agree with you about the center console. I much prefer the older "butterfly" console doors. I also prefer the charcoal colored interior. I had one car with the pearl grey that was pretty but needed cleaning too often. My wagon has the Java interior that is too light and always looks a little dirty.

Hi Jim,
It's very nice to hear from you again. Thank goodness that console has not managed to swim across our little pond.

Our neighbour has the exact same vehicle as our 211 estate, but this evening he turned up in the latest face-lift silver (primer ) coloured 320CDI estate. I have not spoke to him yet so have no idea if this new estate is a replacement or a demo, but it has twin rear exhaust pipes, and boy do they look ugly. Our diesel fuel is allegedly quite clean, but there was black soot around the edges of both exhausts... this soot really stood out and simply looked yuk!!! I have no idea if the tail pipes are meant to be chrome, but they were also sooty, what a terrible sight. The car did have the multi-spoke alloys and at least they looked quite nice. His old estate was the exact copy of ours, except it had a sun roof, this new one just does not impress me one jot, certainly NOT a reason to replace our own vehicle.

Regards,
John

John,

At least you can get the estate CDI. Somehow MBUSA has decided that the poor soles on the left side of the Atlantic pond shouldn't be allowed to have the CDI in anything but the E320 sedan. I would be interested in the 280 CDI because of the increased economy in both a sedan and wagon.

I suppose this might indicate that MBUSA does not believe this to be a popular combination?? In the UK (I cannot generalise about Europe) the 320CDI estate is without doubt the most popular choice. The diesel always used to sell at just over £1000 less than the petrol equivalent, but as soon as these vehicles became second-hand then the diesel becomes more expensive. (the petrol depreciates at a far quicker rate) There are not too many of the face lift models about at present but the few owners I have spoken to that own the new 280, speak very highly about it.

Incidentally the 320CDI estate has been available since late 2003 (with the excellent SBC ) )

Take care,
John

Looks like another beautiful sunny day with a refreshing cool breeze.

Hi Ezah,
What a nice car, and colours (both interior and exterior) I see you come from Europe so is that the European console or will the US vehicles still have there own styling. The new sports pack exhaust for the 320CDI in my opinion looks terrible. Your vehicle appears completely de-badged, what model is it?

Have a nice day,
John

I am wondering why it is de-badged in the back if the car is still at the dealer (brand new)
