I just purchased and installed a Euro comand model 7023 for the W211. This model has the TV outputs and Aux out. Everything from mp3 playback to cd and radio are working fine.

I browsed through all of the forums and went through information sent to me previously from some folks and I can not get into the first engineering menu. Basically, I have tried all combinations of the mute-phone down-service and cant get anything to happen.

I have noticed that this unit only plays dvd's while the parking brake is on. (just found this kind of odd) Anyhow, I cannot play any of my dvd's in my car due to the region codes and I would really like to have this changed.

Any information would be much appreciated.

If you can't access the engineering menu its probably because the unit has the latest software version in which MB has disabled the access.

I heard (cant remember the source) the 2006 Euro comands do not use the current sequence of numbers.

 

The new ones do not do it.

 

I got the Mute-END-SERV AND *,#,< on 06 US COMAND, but picked up a 'newer' EURO COMAND which shows video under 10km/h and does MP3 DVD, RDS, but cant get to Engineer Mode on the EURO COMAND.

Have you had any luck funidng a way to get into your unit? If yes, please let us know the way. Also, I've heard that it's possible to version code you COMAND and enable DVD playback in-motion. SteveNL can do.

It's been 5 years since a last post on this...has anyone found a answer?? I just replaced the US comand with the 7023 euro comand and I would also like to unlock the VIM. mute,phone down, service will not work. Looks like it may have the lateset software from MB. What can I do??
