Rear Seat Room

I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who sat in the New E at one of the E-Motion events. I'm interested in how much leg room you thought there is in the rear seat. Motortrend said it was small. Would 6' adults be comfortable on longer trips?

lol, probably not man. The 2003 e-class's rear lesg room is .2 inches smaller than the 2002, but shoulder room is a little bigger, so that will help

i thought the leg room was sufficient...

i'm 6'1" and i had plenty of room even after positioning the drivers seat to my liking. i wouldn't say 6 adults would be comfortable, but definitely 5.

I went to E-Motion 3 days in a row. They are cheap dates for my ladies! The interior seems 'not much bigger'. The rear headroom actually appeared smaller than my W210 especially with the glass roof and that more curved coupe-like rear C-Pillar. The only obvious increase to the human-eye is that the trunk is really deep and long.

Motortrend is correct. If front passengers are tall and move their seats back, rear seat leg room is only 3".

Not sure about that 3 inch thing

I am 6'3" and sat in the back fo an E500 and was fine. Granted I wouldn't be crossing my legs or anything but I fit ok.

Question:

How would a 6'3" driver in front of you feel?

His/her normal position is probably 4" to 6" between his seat back and the front edge of the backseat, -- which does not leave much wiggle room (4" - 6") for a 6' plus person in the back!

Leg Room in rear

Actually, I sat in the driver seat first and got myself all cozy - pushing the seat all the way back put me too far from the pedals, that has never happened to me before.

After getting cozy up front, I moved to the back and like I said, I fit fine. I spend a good deal of my life flying coach so I am used to cozy seating quarters but I tell you my legs were not squished.

One thing that could have been improved in the back were the three head rests. You can drop them down with a press of a button, but to pick them back up, you have to snap them back into place.

I knew you could drop them down by pushing a button but i didn't know you had to manually put them back up. You're right that is something MB needs to fix. Thanks for the info

Head Rests

Is that true? I was looking all over for a button to bring them back up and couldn't find one. Dang.

I sat in the center seat without problem. I'm 6'0" and 185. The side seats are very comfy. Legroom was not an issue.

haha yes it's true. the dealer put them down, and we left them like that until we left the dealership. about 20 minutes into the ride we wanted to see how they'd go back up. we couldn't find the button for it either so ended up taking out the manual and reading up on how to put them back up.
