Finally
Did not want it initially; but the new 2002 had everything I wanted except for the nav & heated seats.
Now, after almost one year and 15,000 miles, I must say that nav is the most cost-effective option for the money. It is very user-friendly and gets you within 15 yards of your destination.
Did you ever try to explore a new unfamiliar area? Just punch in where you are, browse as you like, and when you are really lost -- punch in your ref point and you'll be guided back where you came from - effortlessly.
You have a choice of seven different languages to get you home!
Additionally from the design point of view, it competes the instrument cluster,- just looks great.
Today, if I look at a car without nav, it's dated. That just shows, how fast this GPS feature became part of me, just like the computers all around me!
When you pay for the NAV and it's listed on the bill of sale of the car, it is warranted for 4 yrs. 50,000 miles.
If the Nav is bought AFTER you take possesion of the car, it's only warranted for 1 year!!...just as other MB parts/components i.e. CD changer.
