Count me in the group that's changed to clear corners. Same eBay seller most of you are talking about in CA. Also put in the silver amber bulbs that I ordered ahead of time so I could do the job in one shot. I'm not in the rock star category so I used two small screwdrivers to get the job done. I wrapped the screwdrivers in masking tape to prevent scratches. Pretty much as everyone has said....depress the clip and it pops right out. There is indeed a rubber gasket that should prevent water from entering the light cavity. Pretty nice mod for $65 including the new bulbs.

HOLY THREAD RESURRECTION, Batman!

I can't believe how much my car has changed since then. Congrats on the corner lights. Mine are still going strong after all these years.

TIP....before you even get your clears buy the silver bulbs so you will be set when you install the clears. the silver bulbs will be yellow when lit. i will get a pair myself and replace the stock bulbs. good luck.

I know it is somewhat harder but using long nose pliers from the wheel well is a sure way of avoiding paint damage. Take a deep breath and sqeeze hard (on the pliers ofcourse)

E55 then E63, now back to an E55
I am ready to do this, but deciding on which bulb to use-
Please help me, I am a perfectionist
I read this entire thread, and am looking for an explanation/chart like such, so I can make an executive decision....

(??Guessing, fill in the blanks??)
Stock bulbs - ???Amber casing color, shows amber through the clear marker (when off-so visible), lights up orange at night, etc???

Aftermarket "Amber bulbs" -- Ebay sellers advertise these with most clear corners (free pair of aftermarket amber bulbs also) -- ??the same as factory/stock??

Afermarket 194 Silver bulbs - ??Silver exterior casing, CAN NOT see directly through clear marker, but lights up orange/silver/yellow/clear at night or when in use??

Thanks in advance......

I have been very happy with the aftermarket silver 194 bulbs. They show up as a dark area if you look closely in the daylight but light up amber when lit.

When I pulled my original markers off there was a clear bulb installed. I had read that you could go with a clear bulb with the new clear marker or with an amber bulb (came with my clear markers). I chose to go with an amber bulb but one that you could not see through the clear marker when it is off. So, I bought a set of silver coated amber bulbs which cannot be seen through the marker when off. However, when on they shine amber. I got them here: http://xenonmods.com/ (194/168 chrome bulbs). I think they look good and still give the amber look when on. Easy install all the way around.

Do a search on Ebay, that's where everyone gets/got them.
194 bulb is correct. Amber ones come w/the lens, chrome/amber ones form
other suppliers. I got mine here : http://autolumination.com/titaniumseries.htm

2008 e350s are not easy to install the clears. I tried to unclip them but feared that it will snap in half. Most of the members said that you have to either remove the bumper or access it from the wheel covers. Has anyone done this for the 08s?

I just tried on my 07 E320. Easiest way is to turn the tire inward and pull the two pins that hold the wheel well cover in, then pull it out until you can reach behind the corner. The only thing holding then in is the small clip on the back end of the holder. You can squeeze it and then pull the whole thing out. Unfortunately the pair I ordered were too wide to fit the E320 opening. Unless I wanted to dremel the opening, it wasn't going to happen.

2007 e350 sedan
[QUOTE=Benz-O-Rama;1724703]Couldn't be easier. Just use a small flat head screwdriver to pop out the old ones. Start by inserting the screwdriver at the rear most end of the light, and the whole thing pretty much pops out. Then you just pop out the bulb assembly and insert it in the new light. Insert the forward most portion of the new light and then let the rear just click in. Really, a blind man with one hand could do it.

Sorry for bringing up an old thread. I'm new here. My aftermarket side marker on my 07 e350 sedan that has been installed for a few years has suddenly popped out. Not sure why or how. I've read on other threads that on the 07 and up they have to be installed through the wheel well, but I certainly don't remember having to do that, pretty sure I just clicked them in through the outside of the bumper, however I can't seem to pop the one that popped out to save my life and it's driving me crazy. Any ideas? Thanks!

Take off the front wheel and go through the fender liner... it's 100% easier than trying to pull it off from the front of the car. In fact I don't even think you can do that due to how it clips in. It was hard as is doing it while the fender liner was removed because it was so clipped in tightly.

If you start using screw drivers you are probably going to mar the paint up or scratch/chip it. It really isn't hard though. 2-3 bolts on the fender liner and then 2 push pins. Then you have all access to the entire two piece assembly.
