The US sport package also has side skirts and a front/rear apron. Is it just not as aggressive as the AMG ones from overseas? I'm surprised MB doesn't offer the AMG styling package here, they do every where else.

I know the US Sport package has sculpted front/rear bumbers and side skirts... not very exciting in comparison to the AMGs though as you said.

Most people here are surprised MB isn't offering the AMG parts in the U.S./Canada.

The sports package is only a worthwhile consideration for the E-320, because you are getting 17" wheels instead of the standard 16".

Since the sports package is only cosmetic and in no way performance related, a more intelligent investment is panorama roof, -- and for an additional $995 you get solar panels supplementing the climate controls for warmer regions!

Nonsense.....to get the scuplted front/rear bumper and side skirts, you have to get the Sport package, I think its visually more appealing than the non-Sport. I also like the white gauges, black bird's eye maple, blue tinted glass, led lights (can't get those without the Sport package). Like I said before, the wheels would go no matter what package we chose.

I personally don't like the pano roof, so the above point is moot.

AMG Package

I think the lack of an AMG sport package in the US is a sensible thing. With the W210s, it was difficult, at least from the front, to distinguish between a true AMG E55 and a sport kit E430. Sorta makes the E55 more exclusive (which I think is a good thing!)

What a bunch of nonsense! A panoramic roof is a panoramic roof.

Your view is immaterial whether it adds value. IT DOES!!

After all, it depends on your taste and priorities!

humm....intelligent investment...um.....no. i don't really like the Panorama roof because it gives me a feeling of "raindrops falling on my head". and to me, the Sport package(Advantgarde) is much aesthetically pleasing, i saw one in the lot today and was practically drooling over it. i loved the interior with chrome outlines and the advantgarde grill too.

The US sport package also has side skirts and a front/rear apron. Is it just not as aggressive as the AMG ones from overseas? I'm surprised MB doesn't offer the AMG styling package here, they do every where else.
the US sport package is front and rear apron only. but over seas "yonder far", the AMG package include front, side, rear AND dual exhuasts with AMG wheels and performance tyres.

HEHE...awesome mrgolf25, the LS is a nice reliable car with nice sound system and nice air conditioning and quality leather too! fast? well..sorta for its size. confortable? DEFINITELY. good choice though i prefer mercedes simply because i want a drivers car. Enjoy your Lexus, we still have one around and its definitely a CEO pleasing type of car.

Let's face it. Buying a car no matter what kind of options it has or doesn't have is NOT and investment. I expect my investments to appreciate not depreciate. All cars are money loosers no matter how you look at it, but at least they make us feel good! Hopefully!!

Rayscar, I couldn't agree with you more, a car is not an investment (unless it is a "collectible", maybe). My actual so-called "investments" have been depreciating too though. So, at least with our '03 SL500 and the E500 to come in October, we can have some depreciating assets that we can "appreciate" every day!!!!
