Exclamation Easy entry/exit seat malfunction FIX

I know many have complained about this feature, hopefully this is your fix:

P-B-80.57/38a SEPT06 Seat Moves to Incorrect Position When Using Easy Entry/Exit Feature; 211 - 2003 through 2005

After entering the vehicle and inserting the key in the ignition, the driver side seat adjustment during Easy Entry/Exit activation does not move to the location stored in memory. If there are no stored or present fault codes in control units used in executing the Easy Entry/Exit feature this may be due to a software error in the Electronic Ignition Switch (EIS). The EIS may be sending the incorrect key memory block number, which would move the driver seat to the incorrect position. Replace the EIS.

Note as of 2006 the Easy Entry/Exit feature has been modified whereas only the steering column will move.

Thanks.

My car is going in the shop for some reason my steering wheel is not going up when I remove the key.

Also, the storage under the seat does not keep closed.. annoying.

Also, the sunroof will not close unless I hold it closed. I have tried to reset it, still does not work. (It may need lubrication?)

Lost Seat Memory......the Fix

OK..... this as happened several times to me......When I take the key out the seat refuses to go back..........like wise when inserting the the seat refuses to return to memory position.
THE FIX As discribed by MB technician
1. insert key to position 2
2.If car as sun or panoroof open fully and close fully twice.
3.Open fully and close ALL WINDOWS TWICE.
4. WARNING You have to be a small person to do this because it is possible to be crushed against the steering wheel............................
Move steering wheel up and down to it,s limits...... and in and out to it,s limits
Finaly take a deep breath move the seat foreward and back to the limits twice.
Lotto jackpot ....you have now re-syncronised the system.
5.Make sure you have key dependent on and also steering wheel + seat activated to on in the convienence display menu.

Have fun ..Please remember the warning..... get some body small to do this.

YES this is what needs to be done. My wife the seats and apparently the seats lost their mind. 5 minutes with the procedure the seats remembered. Don't know about the wife remembering how to push button 1

After several years of "easy exit" working fine, it came back from a recent dealer visit not working. I tried this re-set (from the passenger seat to avoid being crushed) and voila, it is back to working.

Great tip and advice! Thanks.
