E63 wheels installed today

I was tired of the E55 wheels, they have been around too long and on too many vehicles. I wanted something a little more rare, fortunately I found a good set of E63 take-offs. I had them road forced and installed today as soon as UPS delivered them to work, I didn't get it washed though. Here's some pics of the unharmed side before it goes to the body shop tomorrow morning to fix the recent accident.

Thanks. I don't have the AMG exhaust yet. I am probably going to get the kit from MBenzNL but I want pics first of the cut-out/black plastic trim kit that he has. He only had pictures of it uninstalled for the CLS. I'd like to see it installed and unistalled for the W211. Right now I have the Magnaflow exhaust with my own cut-outs https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w211/139761-my-new-custom-exhaust-pics.html

Less than what the guy on ebay and the guy on the E55/E63 forum want for there's, but not much less. Found them at a wheel place in Atlanta, car came straight from dealer to the wheel shop. Already sold the E55's, the same friend/sucker who bought my stock 17" sport rims.

I'm diggin' it.

If I ever go to a non-lipped wheel, those are the ones. Good job.

ditto here as well. I was not into the rims because they look like starfish in certain angles but now I want them. I don't know if these rims will look good on my 06 E350, because I don't have any appearance/premium/etc packages to compliment the rims.

The balancer applies a load to the tire/wheel assembly while rotating to simulate "road force" and determine any imperfections in the tire/wheel assembly. It can differentiate between an out of round tire or a bent/irregular wheel. If the tire is out of round, it will give you points to mark and then rotate the tire on the wheel to bring it within spec. Ideal for larger wheels/low profile tires.

Suprisingly the wheels did not show up balanced and this is the way they came from the factory. Maybe somebody can explain this as I didn't understand. The wheels had less than 50 miles on them (were takeoffs and verified with tire tread -these might as well been brand new), still had factory weights on and were inflated to 32psi. One would think you could just mount to you car and go. Wheel 1 balanced perfectly as is, wheels 2, 3, and 4 were not even close to balanced. Two of the tires had to be rotated on the rim to get them within in spec. Makes you wonder if you actually get a perfectly balanced tire from the factory?

Thank you both ! Very interesting. I never heard the term before and a Google
search showed nothing.

MBuskuhl...did you drive first, after they were mounted, and find vibration, or did
you just have them checked as a precaution ?

I had them done before they were installed, I don't know how much vibration if any I would have gotten had I just slapped them on. The same thing happened when I bought E55 takeoff wheels, they showed up out of balance but all the air had been let out of the tires during shipping which could have caused a slight shift in the tire/rim.

Side note, there is a set of E63 wheels on ebay right now with one bid and no reserve. Anybody on this forum trying for these?
