sport and non-sport

E320 what are the differences when you drive? I test drove the Non-sport and loved the soft steering. The sport i didn't drive but i turned the wheel with the car and park and it seemed soft.

What about bumps on the road do they feel different?

I believe that the Sport package was basically cosmetic. In other words, it changed only how the E320 looked inside and out, not how it performed. I don't recall that the Sport package changed the suspension, although going from 16'" to 17" wheels and tires may have had some effect on ride and handling. I'm sure that somebody will correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm pretty sure for the 03's the sport had the airmatics and the non-sport had coils.

You are correct.

There is a big difference in handling and ride quality between Airmatic (adjustable air suspension) and a coil spring suspension. In addition to raising the car (not sure why this is needed as I don't know anyone who does this except those who lowered it too much and need to get into a steep driveway or speedbump), the Airmatic also allows for 3 different suspension firmness settings with the touch of a button - Regular, Sport I and Sport II. You can definately tell a difference between the settings. With Airmatic, the car will also lower itself approximately .6" in Sport mode (at least according to the owners manual but some claim they don't notice this) to improve handling characteristics.

Type of suspension (Airmatic vs. Coil) and wheel size (16", 17", etc.) will effect ride quality.

Thanks for the info, but does the sport have a suspension setting that you can feel less bumps than the non-sport version? I'm interested in a smooth ride. But i like the Kit, rear tails, black wood of the sport. thx

I think that would be considered an oxymoron.

You can always add those items afterwards.

but he said there's three suspension settings. I'm wondering if one of them can give you a smooth ride. I don't really want this car for speed. 221HP can't do much for that car, we already have an accord v6 240HP and chrysler 300 touring 250HP the latter being slower than the benz anyways.

Leave it in Comfort mode and it's like riding on air (almost).

You can just buy my 03 E320 sport and spend your time on the road rather than confirming that the sport is better than the non-sport.

It looks and drives better than the non-sport unless you want to drive a Cadi.
