$100.00 Amex Card.. TY Much
Got home today and had a letter from Mercedes apologizing for the inconvience of the SBC recall on my car. In return they sent a $100.00 Amex card and a letter of apology. Anyone else get one of these ?.

Yup, me too. And the recall was a big PITA for me, as a new SBC pump was needed and had to come from Germany. My car was down for a week. Others on this forum have reported receiving $100 and $200 cards.
On top of that, my card arrived with several pages of lawyerspeak, the "privacy" section of which indicated that MB had disclosed personal information regarding us to American Express, who will pretty much disclose it to whomever they please. It appears likely that this "Thank You" campaign is, in fact, a poorly disguised campaign by AmEx to collect marketing data on a group of people perceived to be wealthy.
IMO, Mercedes has badly botched this, and I am not a happy camper! How come I didn't get the full spiff, and how dare they disclose my personal information to a third party this way! I think I'm going to cut my card in half and mail it back to MB with a nasty letter.

$200 in July, as discussed in the previous thread. No idea why I was blessed to the (apparent) max of $200 instead of $50 or $100. It paid for two full tanks of gas (at the $3.40/gallon midsummer prices) plus a nice dinner for two. The card stopped working when it still had $7 on it, but $193 in free money ain't bad ...

Same here, 200 big ones. Just got it yesterday...
My car's been in for service more than 8 times in the past year (I nitpick!) for at least 1 week each time, on several occasions it had been in for over 2 weeks (once they broke and replaced my windshield! And, as a side effect, the new windshield solved the chattering wiper problem.
I'm taking my car in again today -- Keyless entry stopped working on the Driver's side door, all other doors operate fine.. go figure! Also have a list of about 8 other issues to look at.. can't wait to read the service ticket: "unable to duplicate problem"!
In any case, when the previous thread on this tpoic first popped up, I was wondering why I hadn't received anything .. but now.. well.. it's all good!

I don't think the amount has anything to do with the inconvenience... My never does to the dealer except for the free sceduled maintenence and of coarse the recall....

I got the same thing that “H on a H” got. $200.00 is a nice gesture and I appreciate it. My car was at my dealer in July for an oil change that I paid for and some other minor stuff. Aside from that, it was in there in October of 2005 for service "C." I also had some recalls done at both visits. I really don't consider this to be a real problem car seeing that it goes in for service about once every 7 months (and that has been because I wanted to change the oil sooner).
I think that I am going to use this money to have the ATF flushed at about 25,000 miles. I don't think that it can hurt anything, especially since that letter has been floating around that it should be changed once before the "lifetime" fluid can be left in there.
So far I have gotten a wallet, a nice wool blanket and this $200.00 card. I have personally owned 3 Mercedes cars under my name and this is the most stuff I have ever gotten. I might be getting spoiled.

I received $200.00 yesterday. I would like to trade it for decent service at the dealership. They call me sir, make me coffee and then spend the next 48 hrs screwing up my car.

I just got home from picking up my new E550 today, and my $50 card was waiting in the mailbox. Got to admit the timing was good, but I was hoping for larger $$$$ since this was the second new M-B in 18 months. I wonder how they decide who gets how much?

Anyone questioning this promotion (i.e.: entitlement, amount received, nothing received, etc.) can call the Customer Assistance Center (CAC) @ 800-367-6372 – have your VIN handy.

I haven't had my car in for anything but will they still give me one anyways. If they will, please tell me it came in a MB envelope and not an American Exp. envelope because those go straight to the shredder.

As I posted on the other AMEX thread...
So I spoke with someone in the promotions dept at MBUSA. I was told that the amount has nothing to do with the year, make or model. But it was for the SBC recall. Now, the amount was determined by a few factors. These being owner loyalty, length of ownership of affected car, and amount of SBC related problems you've had. To use me as a measuring stick, I am a first time MB owner, who purchased in March of this year, and have had zero problems with my SBC other than the recall work. I recieved 100.00 . Oh, and I asked for another card and I was politely told to get bent
