To my surprise, and satisfaction, MBUSA sent me a $50 Amex gift card as a thank you/sorry for having to perform a recall (I assume SBC) on my car "recently" .. God bless them, that's class.

I am most impressed with their gesture.

I wonder how impressed you're going to be when you find out that most other people got $100.

is that serious? Maybe they had more recalls?

I doubt they give $50 and $100 at random.

Dang Sam, How do you rate????? I got $200.00 and my car has never been in for anything but the recall and free services.....

Check this thread.....https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w211/165316-100-00-amex-card-ty-much.html

Vince, this is odd to say the least. Could it have anything to do with the age of the car? I've had mine for a year now. I can't see them being arbitrary about it... there has to be some rime or reason why you get $200, some get $100 and I get a (now) lousy $50... Makes me wana call, but then I'd seem like a winer if I did, if you catch my drift.

Hmm...

btw, I wish I remembered to tell you.. I just got back from Sonoma (Heildsburg mainly) looking at some land.. there are some good buying opportunities out there now-a-days for vineyard land and home sites. Maybe I'll be a neighbor some day.

Sam,
I got $50 as well. Since I haven't had any real problems with my car, I guess all it gets me is 50 bucks.

We just got back from Napa/Sonoma too.

Sam, why don't you make the call, and then post the answer? I also got $50, and was (of course) hoping for $200.

I don't know if I want to call them as I'm sure there is a good answer... oddly you have a post-SBC car and you also got it.. I may ask my dealer and see whet he knows. If he tells me, I'll post it.

Bud.. We could have held an MBWorld.org get together with Vince!

Sam, I got the $50 card from the SBC recall on my '05 CDI, not my '07 E550.

Nope. Not related to the type of car OR the amount of trouble the car has had.

Barry45RPM and HELL ONA HARLEY both have the same car (2004 E500) and the one who has never had any trouble at all got $200 and the other one who has had more trouble than anyone on the planet got $50.

I think the dealer makes the recommendation. I guess Sam didn't do any better with Schumacher's than I did with Phoenix Motors otherwise I'd switch in protest

Just got of the phone with MBUSA
So I spoke with someone in the promotions dept at MBUSA. I was told that the amount has nothing to do with the year, make or model. But it was for the SBC recall. Now, the amount was determined by a few factors. These being owner loyalty, length of ownership of affected car, and amount of SBC related problems you've had. To use me as a measuring stick, I am a first time MB owner, who purchased in March of this year, and have had zero problems with my SBC other than the recall work. I recieved 100.00 . Oh, and I asked for another card and I was politely told to get bent

L.O.L... Sam, I've always had my doubts about you , but I know bud has way too much class for such a meeting with the likes of me.... All kidding aside, Sonoma Co. is a beautiful valley and is also where I bought my car (Santa Rosa)...
