So tonight I was leaving work and since mine was the only car left in the parking lot... I figured I would try...
so I held break with left foot and slammed down on the gas with the right... all the way till I hit the accelerator button at the bottom
and I broke me loose for a little bit, Im wondering if E brake will hold and I tried this? Does our E brake lock up the fronts or the rears?

I almost fell outta my chair when I saw the post on dropping from Neutral to Drive at high RPM. Me & an old friend used to get baked and do that in his mom's Tercel - redline in neutral & BAM into drive over & over again in the snow, leaves, dry pavement it didn't matter. That poor car took some *** whoopin' from us. I never laughed so hard in my life. I highly recommend not doing that in a MB. Oh, by the way it is difficult to powerbrake an E55, something makes it bog. I usually just boot the freakin' thing from a stop in 2nd gear & leave 2-100' long 12" wide S shaped stripes. That's a helluva lot more fun than sitting still burnin tires off.

I think your technique is wrong. This is what I do. First I press the brake lightly. I then press on the gas with increasing pressure. If the car starts to move forward increase the pressure on the brakes just a bit. Once the car is stabalized, keep on increasing the gas. It should break loose by then.

Please you must be some old fart... I on the other hand like playing with my toys... If I had an SLR, I would cook some tires, if I had a Bentley, I would leave tire behind by the pile...
Think of me as you want, but as you can see, this thread has quite a bit of interest. I drive an E class yes, but it doesnt mean I cant have fun with it...

Don't use the E brake. It locks the rear brakes.

I am going to try and tweak that methodology and get it to work... this car certainly has enough power to break wheels loose and bake...

When I had my supra it was one of things I most enjoyed... dropping a clutch at 4500 RPM and baking tires through 3rd or just doing donuts... nothing eases stress better then some good old fashion mischief, auto abuse style

My C55 won't burn the tires with a power-brake even w/ ESP Off either. I think the computer in the newer MB models prevents this (maybe 2005+?).
Put it into Dyno-mode. Then it'll smoke the tires all-day-long (works on my car anyway).

Ahhhhh, close grasshopper, but not quite.
1. Turn key to ON position (position II).
2. Mash throttle to the floor (5-10 seconds) making sure you hit the kickdown button.
3. Turn key to off position
4. Remove foot from throttle.
5. Keep key inserted for 2 minutes or longer and then start car.
I believe this actually resets the adaptive tranny on the car. I'm sure if I'm wrong, someone will chime in.
And if you want to screw around with dyno mode, here's the link. There's even a how-to video. Not sure if this works on Non-AMG cars but you can give it a shot

LMAO!!! Yes, I was thinking that you'd actually want to drive the car after doing the reset. But, yes, you could definately take the key out after the 2 minute wait and come back later to drive the car.

LMAO!! I just got the Flintstones reference. I was thinking that it'd be easier to do the reset first, do what you need to do. And when you come back, you're all set go right away.
