07 E550 Test Drive -Spare Tire -Blackberry
Just got back from driving a E550. Just slightly more punch than my 99 E430. Came around a clover leaf entry ramp and had a little fish tail going until the Stability program caught it in the act. I am glad I waited.
Being a road warrior, I have 2 big concerns:
1. Has anyone in the current W211 put a full size spare in the trunk. It looks like maybe if you remove the cover below the carpet, you might be able to fit one?
2. Does anyone use a Blackberry (mines a Cingular 7130) with the Bluetooth?

Interesting comment. My E500 goes 0-60 in about 5.9, the E550 goes 4.8. I haven't driven the 550 yet, but numbers make it seem more than "just slightly
more punch"

If the wheel well hasn't changed, the 225/55-16 tire fits in the wheel wheel perfectly. You probably need at least the 17 inch tire to clear the front brakes, and thus a 17 inch tire probably would be a bit too big because it is likely a 245 section width.
That means that if you are dead set on a full sized spare, you would have check the E350 or the CDI to see if you can fit the car with 225/55-16 tires.
Have them drop a 17 inch tire in the wheel well and check out how much it lifts up the floor and if is something you can live with.
Good luck

Buying mostly for highway driving, I was slightly displeased with the wheel noise, but I guess that is to be expected with the larger wheels. But the Comfort setting has an overall much better ride than my 99'.
