2006 E350 Questions

Hello

My dad has an E350 and i have some questions from him.

1. Can he hook up an ipod to it? Doesn't matter how. Pictures would be appreciated

2. The dealer told him xenon lights were not available on this model, even as an option. Sounded like to me.

2006 E350
Hi there, I don't own an Ipod but I do have the 06 E350 and mine came with a stereo jack inside the upper portion of the glove compartment. I believe the jack you would need would be a stereo jack that will come from the headphone output of the Ipod:

I've never tried it but I'm pretty sure this is how it will connect. You will not have the option to control the Ipod via Comand but you will be able to listen to it. I heard that an actual Ipod interface gives better sound quality than the AUX port. Hope this helps.

Use the cord shown in post #2 for your ipod. Total cost = less than $5. Works great through the AUX input.

i found one hole in the glove compartment. however, the hole is a bit bigger than the end of the earphone cable for the iPod.

has anyone had any success in plugging in the iPod using the hole in the glove compartment?

Your answers are as follows:

An IPOD can be used in 2 different ways. Use the AUX-IN (auxilary input) which is the headphone jack located in the top center of the glovebox. It can be hard to see unless you look closely. This works very well and is free provided you buy a cable 0 which is cheap. This will not charge the IPOD and it does not provide any control other than those on the IPOD. Volume from the steering wheel does work. The second way is the integrated kit. This is a little pricey but does allow charging and provides control of the music through the steering wheel controls. I prefer the Aux-in route.

Bi-Xenon headlamps are of course available. For MY07 they are part of the Premium II (P2) package. Prior to MY07 they were available in the Lighting package.

Are you looking in the glove box of a W211, or are you talking about the 2002 C32 in your signature?

Just get a cable that has the same connector on both ends that matches the headphone jack on your ipod. Stereo MiniPlug, I think they call them. When you plug in the ipod, turn the ipod volume all the way up, or you will really have to crank the volume on your COMAND.

2006 E350
Is this a MB dealership that told you that it is not available on this model? If they have the 2006 E350 brochure which I'm looking at right now, it does say it's an option and may here on this forum have it.
