Interior 'lights' switch (2003)
Around the light switch there are symbols for the lights, are they meant to be illuminated?

It depends on the model..
1. For some if you flip it all the way left, you will see a small green light.
2. For others, if you pull out the light switch one notch; it will turn on the front fog lights/driving lights. Then a small green light will also be illuminated..
3. But for all, if you pull out the light switch all the way; an amber light will go on letting you know that the rear fog light is illuminated. (i.e. One of your break lights is always on.) I wouldn't recommend this position unless you are in extreme fog.

The unlit light switch is #3 on my personal W211 "WTFWTT?" list, #1 being the carpeted door sills and dead pedal and #2 being the inability to scan radio presets from the steering wheel.

Why do you say this is disputed? Anyone with an '07 can verify this.

Exactly so, but I've seen posts here saying that it's not fixed on the '07. Maybe the authors hadn't got to the part of the manual about the two scanning modes. It took M-B only four years to restore (prospectively only) the option available in the W210.

CHIPPED E320 CDI
Had a E320 V6 cdi on loan until my comand was fitted, what a motor, didn't even sound like a diesel,an all round better refined car but i did notice that there was a gap of 3mm around the center dash where the comand sits and the cd changer flap was further out by 1mm than the astray lid, doesn't sound much but if you run your finger up and down on the edges it feels terrible.
All in all a great package
