I think April will be able to take vacation in Jan.
I am really looking forward to you taking me out on the beltway in your rocket ship!
I drive a late 2002 registered (uk) E270cdi with auto tiptronic (one of the very first w211) with less than 30,000 miles, recently I started to have problems with the speed as the car slips as I try pull away, then jolts very badly as if the handbrakes were on and it does not want to move. sometimes when I take my foot off the acceleration and try to pull away again it jolts agains and then responds but when I try to move faster same problem again. I took it to the garage and after various test they said it a transmission problem. They said that the gear oil coolant (located within the radiator) had taken in water.AS a result the water has got into the gear box and oil has got into the torque converter. so they all have to be replaced. gear box, torque converter, radiator, reflushing of transmission after replacement.
big unbeliveable bill at the moment
I heard from unconfirmed sources that mercedes placing the problem prone gear oil coolant in the radiator is design flaw waiting to cause major problems as in this case where a faulty / licking gear oil coolant seems to have caused major problems by drawing water into gear box. How this could also have caused oil to be draw into the torque convertor, I don't know. please educate me

but to help you a bit... this is a "known" issue with the trans on the '3 and some '4's and there area actually several class action lawsuits about it.. you shouldn't have to pay for this repair as it's not a wear and tare item, but rather faulty engineering.. call your regional MB rep and demand they pay for it!
i also own a 525i and the E blows it away. not referring to power just confort and build qaulity. every thing is in the right place. in about a year the 5 series is getting traded for cls!

Thanks for posting the pictures

Nice car, with nice wheels,

I'm new to the Mercedes realm, although a long time admirer. Came here from the Volvo world (used to own a 1998 S70 T5 SE will miss that car deeply but a good trade in
).Some interior pics:
I too came from Volvo, though I still have one.. I had a 1997 960, then 2001 V70, and now a 2006 XC90..
The Volvo's are great cars, no doubt... but there is only one Mercedes Benz.
CE750, yeah volvo's are great reliable cars! I had a 740 before the S70 T5, I was a volvo fanatic! Gonna miss that turbo. This V8 (my first V8) however will keep me very busy!
Lovin the E!I see in your homepage pics that you have an XC90 T6! I always thought that was one of the hottest looking SUV's to date when it first came out (besides the X5)! You got a great arsenal in that garage of yours!
