Is navigation available in Indonesia? Is the command option expensive even tho navigation is not available?

LoL ... yeah, the price is insane, I paid for 880 Million Rupiah + 490 Million Rupiah (Import Tax)

1 dollar = 9200 rupiah at that time.

my car is imported, not assembled in Indonesia, It's impossible to find loaded E-class that's assembled by Indonesian MB factory.

Navigation is not available in Indonesia. That's why I don't have GPS Module in my car

Well done and congrats of the purchase. The car looks really nice!

We are getting an E280 Avantgarde also heavily optioned like yours and are expecting it by March. It will also have the sport package.

We currently have an '04 E240 and the engine in that is noisy at idle and low speed cruising. Only on the motorway is it quiet. My question for you is what the engine in the E280 is like?

I understand its more powerful than the engine in the old E320 and along with that excellent 7G transmission, it accelerates much better and is only a little bit slower to 100km/h than an E350.

How much noise is made at engine startup and idle? What about low speed cruising? Is the engine note nice with the chrome pipes. Any detailed impressions/opinions from you will be grately appreciated!

Congrat, loaded E-class is fun. You won't regret it.

The engine sound during idle is not noisy, if I may say, it's very quiet. at low speed cruising, you won't be able to hear engine's noise at all. E280 has 3000cc engine, the power it delivers is very distributed throughout the RPM range.

Engine note is better than stock pipes, When you start the engine, it gives you a nice and deep exhaust note.

7G transmission plays important part in smooth acceleration, I like it a lot.

I'm not trillionaire, I'm just an ordinary guy like all of you.

the price of Imported cars are very expensive and anything above 3000cc will get you heavily pounded by Tax.

Thank you for the reply. It is reassuring to know the car we're getting (March) doesn't have a loud engine like our last one did. We haven't test drove one is why I didn't know.

Which gray market dealer did you buy it from, I got mine from IVAN's, he sold me mine for IDR 1,070,000,000 and yeah MB Indonesia sucks for what they have and the price they want

Oh yeah, I wanted to ask you regarding your warranty. Most dealers I talked to only wanted to give a 2 year warranty (including the first 2 services) with Garisindo but I negotiated a 3 year warranty including all services for 3 years as well, all I have to do is put gas in it and tires on it for 3 years. ADS in Kebon Jeruk is doing all of my service and handles all of the warranty issues for 3 years.

Don't bust his *** too much, govt. taxes really screw us here. WIth the exchange rate a few months ago and the fact I bought my RUpiah when ut was cheaper I paid USD 110,000 for mine and trust me it would be more expensive in HongKong and even more expensive in Singapore. Don't take my word for it just go to Mercedes Singapore or Mercedes HongKong websites. You can see the prices for these on both of those sites. ALso beaware we bought our cars via a gray market dealer, I did ask for and get a quote for my E280 from Mercedes Indonesia and with the same options, they quoted and imported it from Germany (which the one I got was from Germany anyway)and I would have paid an additional 35,000 USD on top of what I paid with the gray marklet dealer. Screw MB Indonesia, biggest ripoff I have ever seen and the laziest and most arrogant ba$tards when it comes to selling cars I have ever seen.

LoL

yeah, Indo MB dealers are filled with arrogant salesmen, they think working in MB dealership makes them look like rich people.

I have a question, do you think I can upgrade my current key to the chrome key in local dealership?

Authorized MB dealers won't give warranty because it's a CBU car. They only give warranty to indonesian-assembled MB cars. Maybe I haven't ask enough question

Considering what I paid for, I think you have a better deal than I what got. I didn't do enough survey before buying the car and I still wish that I have the 2007 instead, but like I said, I didn't regret purchasing this.
Congrats MotorWerkz for the new MB and the business

Do you live in Jkt or Makassar (based on your comp website)?

As for the 07 model, you can facelift it like what Jakarta Expat did. I remember I saw his car's pics on his post last year ( sounds like long time ago huh..., actually a couple weeks ago)..LoL

thanks

I live in Makassar and I purchased the car in Jakarta. I can't find any new imported cars in Makassar since Makassar is a small city.

I don't think it needs facelifting, although it will make it look better. I prefer the look to stay the way it is.

I see...So, I am curious to know what happened if you want to service your car. Are you gonna ship it back to Jakarta (since you purchased the warranty from the dealer in Jakarta)?? If yes then I will imagine your car will be in n out the ship

for major services, then yes, it'll be in n out the ship. From makassar to Jakarta in Container is approximately 6 Million Rupiah (~650 USD).

for minor services, I'll have to invite MB approved technician to Makassar to do the service.

it sucks to live in a small city ...

Some new pictures, just finished washing and waxing.

After seeing a facelift kit from an MBworld member, I decide to facelift my car to 2007 E class.

What I need:
- Intelli-xenon headlights with LED turn signal
- 2007 Grill
- 2007 Front-end + foglight
- 2007 Rear tail-light
- wider chrome strips on the rear panel + rear panel
- 2007 Side mirrors with autofolding feature.

Wish me luck
