I love my E class, but...

I got in my car the other night, approximately 12:15AM after a 16hour day at work. When I left my office something came over me, maybe it was like seeing your significant other after a long business trip or something, but I fell in love with her all over again. Smooth alabaster white paint, with the contrasting panoramic roof. Then getting in to the leather stone interior again with the contrasting birds eye maple accents and a drivers seat that hugs and cradles you.

Turned on the car and heard that rumble, I let my car warm up and planned my route. I made my adjustments from comfort to sport on the transmission and adjusted suspension in to sport 2...off I went. Instead of taking the normal highway route home, I went with a number of twisty backroads in american suburbia. This was certainly the stress buster I needed to help me relax. Its obvious I love the car, and could not be happier with the purchase. Its comfortable and driveable, is it the best at either? I dont think so, but for me for what this cars purpose is for me, it matches perfectly.

So where is the BUT? I believe this whole experience could be better with the addition of Paddle shifters on the wheel. Has anyone ever managed to incorperate steering wheel shifters on a non AMG W211? How difficult could it be? having to take my hand off the wheel to shift seems a little ineffecient when you want to keep your hands on the wheel steering in to a turn or out of it

Please Discuss...

Hope you didn't stop at one of those flea-bag motels on Rte 1 that charges by the hour and the guy at the desk hands you the sheets/pillows for your room!!

paul...

Woooowiiiieeee!!! I went through a mountain road like that this Christmas weekend in Ohio near the Appalachians. Even though it was in the ML, it was so much fun!! Tons of curves/bends/hairpins, straights, hills. The speed limits were pretty generous too.

theyre not in boston... they are back roads from Burlinton to my home in Lincoln...

Total drive time from the office... 15min but its fun and relaxing at midnight when no one is on the road... and there are no stop signs or lights stopping you
