AMG Sport Package in 2007 E550?
I would really like the AMG sport package in this vehicle but do not see it as an option. I really like the front air dam and the wheels much better than the no cost option available. I called my salesman and he is looking into it. I thought this was made available in 2006 for all E-Class?

I have a 2006 E350 with the AMG Sport Package and was told it had been discontinued when I came across my car on the lot in December 2005. I liked the silver, but wanted black and they couldn't order one. It was option code 321.

That seems like a bonehead move on their (Mercedes) part. It could easily be accomodated and there is a market for it. I hate to have to settle for something else. I am not going to go all out for the E63.

I was really surprised that they discontinued it. I purchased from a high-volume dealer that had about 250 E-Classes in stock when I got mine, and it was one of just TWO in that huge inventory with the 321 package. I asked why and my salesman thought it was the $5000 package price, pushing my 6-cylinder car to an MSRP of $60K, that would turn most buyers off. If looking today I'd go for the E63, but at the time I had 2 other cars and couldn't justify the extra $500/month in the payment. The E63 in black is wicked.

I always thought exceptions were possible. A few years ago my brother-in-law leased a Porche Boxster and the sales guy told him that he could invent his own color. In this case there is already the relationship with AMG. If someone is willing to shell out the extra cash than so be it. The salesman at Ray Catena asked me if I would settle for the E350 Sax in the showroom. I do not want to trade power for looks and said no. The E550 is a real monster, much more so than my E500. The E63 would probably be a real Godzilla, but do I want to shell out $1400/month?

they discontinued AMG packages in the E class not to dilute the AMG image. MB realizes that they have over done it with AMG styling... and are releasing "sport" versions of what they have...
AMG package was discontinued in the early 06s... IE from august-december build of 05... my E has a feb build date and there was no longer the AMG package for it, just the sport. I think its better to keep them seperate anyways

211 AMG Sport Package - What Price??
The package was discontinued because it was just too expensive. Also, with the launch of the Sport Sedan, most of the customers who were looking for somehting sportier were covered with this and the price is certainly right. It could certainly be done though if they can get the pricing right. Also, since the E63 has its own front-end, it is not longer shared with the AMG styling as it was on the E55. Being that is was ued for the Key to the Cure special model, it can certainly be done and it looks great. I would be interested to see what the group thought the pricing should be for the kit which includes the AMG front and rear bumper plus chrome AMG exhaust tips and also the 18" five spoke wheel which was used on the Key to the Cure special model? These components I think are similar to what was offered previously in the AMG Sport Package code 321 which was priced at approx. $5.000.

Yeah, its kind of weird that the Sports Package is a no charge option, considering that it does have some added value features. It is worth a "couple of bucks" extra to get the added trim especially that now it can be had with the brown wood, since not all interior/exterior color combos look good with black wood. IMHO
Its also a good idea to keep the AMG vehicles looking different to keep them a big step above the conventional... just like their price. Its just good marketing on MBUSA's part.
If I were at MB I'd make the Sports package standard on the E550s, minus the Blue Glass & Staggered wheel set up & make them available as a separate package which would include the E63 Spoiler. That way 550s would have a more aggressive look than the 350's, and they would still retain the "able to rotate tires" feature for those that don't want to go for the max in the sports package, or who don't know much about tires/wheels. The Blue Glass/spoiler/wheels package would make up for MBUSA including the sports package on all 550s, because they could charge for it & have many, many takers for a popularly priced option available only to 550s.
Ahhhhh Marketing.

2018 AMG E63s
The AMG option is still available in Australia on all the E class models.
It's a $10,650.00 option on a E500 making it $170,950.00
An E63 will still cost you $227,600.00 to have the real thing. Big dollars.
Im happy with my sport optioned E350
And get this the reason why Mercedes Australia didn't call the new E500 an E550 is they didn't want people to get confused with the AMG E55. But they give you an option to put an AMG package on an E500. go figure.

I could be WAY wrong here BUT i think i read a post saying that you could order the AMG pack on a non key to the cure edition E350 by ordering some option code.
Worth a call to regional manager I think.

Well I just got the call from my salesman. It is absolutely NOT available, and he was on a conference call to Germany. This sucks and I am tempted to get the E63 but that is an entirely different animal and would cost almost $700 more a month. An alternative solution is to order the current sport package and get the AMG wheels for $2000. I will probably do that.

20+ to list......
Well, I just make my E550 Sport better by changing the wheels to my E55's stock rolling pieces, putting on a E63 front bumper, stick on an E63 spoiler, took out the resonator, put in a set of K&N's, and had Powerchip reflashed the car. There's my Sport packed E550.
