Might be here by Saturday!!!

Anyone know if there's a rubber trunk tray/protector available? There'll be times when my sons have baseball equipment(esp spikes with clay) thrown in Moms' trunk. Have one in my wagon that works great

I got a weathertech universal rubber trunk mat for my '04 which I kept. It fits nicely under the floor cargo net. It needed only minor trimming, but it has scored lines. Its not a true trunk liner with raised edges. I don't think they make one for the sedan, the pic at their website shows a wagon with one, and I wanted the floor mounted net hooks to remain useable so I could reinstall the net. Its called a "Universal Rubber Cargo Mat" http://www.weathertech.com/store/pro...em_group_id=28
It comes in 2 sizes. Not sure which size I bought back then.

On another note, for break in the manual says keep the transmission in the "C" mode for the 1st 1,000 miles.

Barry,

Again, I'm in your debt.

I'll check out the WeatherTech, I have their window guards/visors(?) on my wagon. I like the raised border type of trunktray in my wagon but, it's Volvo OEM.

Its a really heavy weight rubber mat with a slight raised ridge in it so it will contain a small spill as lnog as you don't whip the car around, and its easy to clean.

I got an OEM trunk tray from the dealer for my '04 E and changed it over when I got my '07. Fits great and has about 1 1/2" lip all around. Can't remember the price but it was reasonable.

I have the same trunk tray. I kept it from my '03 and it fits the '07 as well. The dealer threw it in with the deal so I don't know how much it cost.

Also had a complimentary OEM trunk tray in my 03 e320, it’s durable and cost effective. BTW incorporated the OEM floor cargo net by cutting a hole for each floor hook and installing a flat weatherproof soft rubber grommet used on outdoor terminals by your local phone company - easily installed and free for the asking. Check with your dealer to see if 6-68-0522 (03 w211) is the correct part number. Think list price at the time was about $60 (more or less always discounted). Unfortunately it didn’t fit in the CLS, just gave it to a neighbor.

So how are you liking the '07? We got them the same day. Did you notice that the Manual says to leave the transmission in the "C" setting for the 1st 1000 miles?

The consensus here at the forum is: Barry, how do YOU like the 07?

I've got 90 miles on it. No warning lights, everything works like a charm. Nothing feels like a Benz. I'm holding my breath... and just because I'm suspicious, I'm saying it will have been a good thing the car was delivered on my Birthday, and the last 6 digits of the VIN are the same as my office's zip code with one number repeated.

Me crazy? Nah...

Went to Long Island over the weekend and logged my first 300 miles. The car is as smooth as silk. I am really enjoying it and can't wait to get it over 1000 miles. Knock on wood - no gremlins have come out.

When I drove out of the dealership, I did not notice that the transmission mode was at "C" (previously "W") until I was close to home. I switched it to "S" a few hundred yards from home. Later, when I then read the manual, I was indeed surprised about the recommended setting of "C." They know best, I guess; so, I switched it back to "C" the next day.

The only drawback about keeping it at "C" is it takes too long to upshift from a standing start. But, it won't be long now ... 700 miles to go!

Yeah, the guy who delivered my car inherited the sale from a guy who was transferred to another dealership they own (Ferrari!). The delivery guy was a complete idiot who didn't give me my bill of sale because the deal was a Lease & "the Lessor gets the Bill of Sale"... even though it was a straight purchase by me & I was supposed to get a bill of sale, kept asking where was my trade (It had been traded in to them 4 months earlier, so I had no old car, no new car, and no money).

He should have put the car in "C" but it was in "S".

I'd never slam them in a delivery survey, but I will mention it to the sales manager. I know the dealer Ownership wants to be be "the best", & they should know.

...and yeah, I'm enjoying mine too.

We just found out that our new E (which was due end of 2nd half of March) has been delayed by 2-weeks due to bad weather. Its a long trek from Germany to downunder and I guess these things are inevitable.

Delivery is first few days of April approximately. They'll try to hurry up the mandatory quarenteen process that vehicles must undergo here in Aus.

My car has been at the port for 3 weeks. My dealer just informed me it may not be released till next month due to a software modification. They are not sure which option pkg is causing the problem.

This is getting old.

Joe,

That sucks BIG time! I'd start rattling the dealers chains.
I'm anxiously awaiting a call from the dealer now.
If it's a software issue, it's probably microsux
