Part #s DVD NAV 2006.1
I just purchased a 2004 E320 4matic with NAV. Unfortunately, someone made off with the DVD before I got the car. In trying to get the latest DVD for it I have looked on eBay and other places. I see 2 parts #s being listed for 2006.1 the first is: BQ 646 0216 The second one is: BQ 64 60 223.
Can someone tell me what part # they have listed for the U.S. 2006.1 DVD?
Anyone selling one for a good price? Please direct me to them.
Also being that this is a 2004 car, should I look into the command software update? I have read a few posts about issues with audio etc on the command units.
Thanks

Yes you might want to look into an update. The 2006.1 will update some of your COMAND. Not 100% sure since I'm new to the E as well. But the correct PN is BQ 646 0216. Be aware that the 2006.2 DVD is out already but I don't know the PN. HTH

BQ6460216 = 2006.1
BQ6460223 = 2006.2 released 12/06
If either DVD is not recognized, as may be the case for MY04, the navigation processor software will need to be updated.
P-B-82.60/382a COMAND head unit mismatching radio stations or frequency bands, disc drive errors, CD changer panel stuck, head unit resets, navigation destination entry errors and various audio conditions. The COMAND head unit software will be updated to 04/06.

I understand NAVTEQ released the 2006.2 DVD (part #BQ6460223) on 12/29/06. Now then the dealer may reference the vehicle’s production date rather than delivery date for entitlement in which case simply speak to the sales manager and request a goodwill update. In light of the circumstances they shouldn’t refuse.

Hello,
I'm new to this place. I purchased a 2004 e500 with nav but the cd is cracked. The version is 2004.1 North America. Does the year determine the latest software version? Or does it mean (2004.1) the year of the car it's for?
Thanks, in advance

the "2004" Designates the Year the disk was issued. (All disks issued that year will say 2004). The ".1" is the version of the disk issued that year. If they make another updated disk with additional streets new streets on it, it will be called 2004.2.
It's so you can tell what year the disk was made in, and which version of that year's disk it is.
If you bought a new disk now it should say 2006.2, because that's the newest one.

MB dealer got the 2006.2 Nav DVD working in my E. Not sure if they changed out any software but they did replace the DVD unit in the trunk with a newer one!! Many thanks to their hard work - a shameless plug for Valencia MB !!
