anybody gone to EMotion yet ? I did....kind of a let down....
I was expecting something a little more extravagant with a better test drive; the course is like 30 seconds long
I drove the only car with the sport pkg (500)and yes the car can be lowered...you can see the star go lower when pushing the button.
Beautiful car tho !
I went to the Miami E-Motion event and had a great time. I drove both the 320 and the 500 numerous times. They had a short course involving acceleration, braking, slalom, curves, etc. Nice event IMO.
Additionally, MB provided for stationary sit-ins: the
new CLK, --
SL500, S500, CL500, M500, and the Gelaendewagen 500.Plus gourmet food & refreshments, Saks' massages, Sony HD TV, and a lot of technical personnel, giving you the straight scoop - incl. distronic is a useless device/option for $3,000 -- for driving in and around metropolitan areas.
As has been said: "It only costs a little more to go first-class." MB went beyond first-class.
Kudos to MB!!
I think MBUSA accomplished their mission...my parents already decided their next car will be another Benz (not bad, considering they had their new Jag for a month).
By the way, I hear Mercedes is coming out with an improved Distronic that works in stop-and-go traffic.
does anyone else feel the doors don't close with that authoritative, bank vault "thunk" like the W210's do? i thought it was very obvious and telling. is it just chepaer doors or is that how the new lightweight steel is? That door closing thing is one of the highlights of finishing a drive for me. it gives me reassurance that i'm driving one of the finest cars available.

Just to clarify, bmms8 indicated that at the E-Motion event he would not get to drive. That is not because the event does not allow licensed drivers to drive the cars. All of such events provide driving experiences of one sort or another. I think it is because bmms8 is not licensed yet.
