Suspension Problem, need help?
I have an 03 E500 that has been problem free. The warranty ran out this past January and I took the car out yesterday and within a few minutes, I got a "Stop, Car Too Low" warning in red on the dash.
I fooled with raising and lowering the suspension to see if that would counter any problems, but it didnt. It appears the be only the right front and I am assuming a sensor or something went bad.
Anyone experience this. My car has always been serviced at Fletcher Jones during warranty, but I am quite sure I dont take it to them now since it would be extremely expensive even if something small.
If its an easy part to get too, I can change it myself, if not, any good reasonable German Car service repair places in So Cal that wont gouge me. I am in Irvine.
Thanks

It was a bad shock and happy to say my dealer took care of me and replaced it. Total for one since Airmatic suspension, parts and labor, $1000.00 and being out of warranty for 3 months it cost me nothing.
They always take great care of me at Fletcher Jones-Newport Beach and I have yet to buy a car from them, but always get this car and our others serviced with them.

W211 Suspension problem
Hi there,
I own a W211 E320 and I had a similar problem just last month that was very embarrassing.
I came out of the tennis court after a match and I see the left front of my car dropped to a very low level. Thought that the road was not even and did not pay much attention to it. As soon as I pulled out of the parking space the red STOP, CAR TOO LOW warning popped up. Tried everything to raise the car but all you hear is a whining noise from the front and the left rear side simply would not rise again.
In my case, the problem is a leaking left front shock and I had to replace the front pair just to be safe.
When you press the Rise button does the other 3 corners rise? If that is the case then it could very well be the shock because the pump is still apprently working for the other 3 corners.
Good luck!
Richard

I just got new front tires at a tire shop. When I went to pick up my 2003 E500 Sport, one of the front airmatic struts was completely flat. Could this failure be related to lifting this car up? Dealer says $1100 for strut and 3.7 hours to replace just 1 strut. Sounds a little high on labor to me. Anyone have any expertise in this area?
