any do it yourself ecu or computer mods or tricks? 2007 w211

hey,

i have a 2007 e350 sport. i broke my car in the proper way, were as my friend ripped the car from day one.

now when im in his car its accelerates much quicker then mine. i figured its because the ecu memorised his driving style?

are there and ecu mods or tricks we can do ourselves at no cost to boos this car

Its big and Grey!
here is a trick..

1. Save up money

2. Sell your 350

3. Buy a 550 and then go play with him.

when you reset the ecu, do you get any confirmation message?

does this sprint booster make a big diffrence on the e350?

You'll definitely notice the difference. SprintBooster + ECU reset = Wholly S**t!

Drive carefully at first though, it might take some getting used to. Especially when backing up, or making small, slow speed corrections (eg. traffic).

Haven't heart anything on this. But if you have any concerns, it's like a 10 minute install, so you could easily remove it prior to taking it in for service.

I took delivery of an '07 E550 4MATIC yesterday. It wasn't nearly as responsive as the one I test drove a couple of weeks ago. It came from another dealership and had 250 miles on it including 90 from the other dealership to my local dealer. I did the ECU reset this morning and woke it up. Much improved. Seems like the miles put on it at the first dealer was by a bunch of grannies ( which is not a bad thing). Thanks for the link. I wrote down the procedure and stuck it in the car for future reference.

Congrats, nice car!!

I'm looking forward to my Sprint Booster, which should really wake up the responsiveness of the car...

Spent about an hour last night reading great stuff on the Sprint booster. Sent an email to Dean (MB member SLKFans) for an order and he got right back when he will get another shipment. My question is after all that reading, don't think anyone really answered if mpg was affected assuming same driving style? I think it might come down to the signal triggering more throttle faster (aka more gas off the bat). I either event I'm going to do the install regardless.

don't order anything from Dean. I placed an order with him almost 2 months now and never got anything. He doesn't return my emails. I just filed a complaint with Paypal and they ruled in my favor. Caution buyers.

If you have a problem with a particular dealer, please post a thread with the dealer's name in the subject, so when people search for it, or see it, they are cautioned. Otherwise, people have to read this particular thread to get a warning about the dealer.

Yes, imagine trying to explain to someone who doesnt own the car why it went like a cut snake in reverse.

Sprint booster is like a breast implant. It looks like it does something cool but when it comes to the test its just a whole lot of nothing.

I disagree.

The Sprintbooster, IMHO, makes your car feel the way most of us would expect a car should. So, I would think that, for someone unfamiliar with your car, they wouldn't notice anything exceptional... just a normal feeling car -- you hit the gas, the car goes.

But, if YOU are used to driving your car w/out the sprintbooster (accustomed to the lag), and then install one, then it is YOU who are used to your car driving differently, so YOU would have to adjust to your cars new driving characteristics.

At least, thats how I see it.

I drove for three blocks with it in and I hated it. I did not want to adapt to what I felt was an overly sensitive throttle that made driving the car smooth harder than the first manual you learned on. I only bought it to eliminate the delay on full throttle kick-downs...

I don't know about any of you, but me likey fake breasts!!!!

Sprint Booster for me gives me total control of how I want to drive that day, as opposed to stock which limits your control BIG TIME.

SPRINT BOOB-STER, I mean, BOOSTER, ROCKS.

Is there a control in the cockpit to turn Sprint Booster on and off?

No, it is just a pug that goes in between the gas pedal and the plug that attaches to it. All the SB does is advance the throttle position as per how much pedal is applied. At half pedal you are at full throttle. It does not improve acceleration times whatsoever, however is does decrease mileage.

Basically imagine your gas pedal was twice as sensitive as it is now, by that I mean if you depress the pedel ever so slightly and you crack the throttle body 10% normally with the SB you will now be at 20%.
