for buying an E55. Just my preference to NOT see an E320 masquerading. No offense.

How would it be masquerading? A small number of regular E-Classes came with the AMG bodykit that you see on the E55, iirc.Originally Posted by Reckdriver

Your car will simply be an E320 with a nice exhaust, nothing more, nothing less.
Back on topic: Does anyone know how much the E55 exhausts go for used?

I believe they are about $1000-$1500 used when I was looking, depending on when they were taken off. That bumper you have is the same as mine. I went Dynomax on the exhaust a year ago and cut the bumper. The post is on this forum. Look into the Remus exhaust, that's an option for the W211.

Asian, I think you're right that some E-Klasses may have come factory with an AMG bodykit. However, I'm fairly certain they did not come with the trademark quad exhaust tips. I just shudder at the thought of some kid in a Honda Civic stoplight racing this poster's E320 with quad exhaust and winning. I guess the bright side would be that the Civic kid then might meet up with a with a REAL 55 and ahem, things would be different.
Point is that $1000-1200 would be better spent investing with a plan to buy a real E55 than spent on "pimping" the E320. That is a matter of opinion, of course.

I liked W Coles explanation: "Your car will simply be an E320 with a nice exhaust, nothing more, nothing less."Originally Posted by Reckdriver

Hey, to each his own.

ExploreI too had wanted to put the quad exhaust on my car.. and after riding around and seeing all of the fake quad pipes on cars here in the city.. decided against it.. they mostly look like crap.... I also decided that a used AMG quad would have been pretty nice.. but....my car isn't an AMG and that would be a waste of money...
what might be nice is simply putting the single pipes w/cutout that match the current E350 sport (for your car).
or.. watch for some of the Saks Fifth Avenue style wheels to put on your car.. ?? that would cool too.

also on ebay.. I have seen valences for the lower part of the bumper that would work well.. but the pipes that they come with don't seem to be that nice...

I hear ya.
I've only seen one pair of original E55 pipes on ebay.. they went for $700... it might be interesting to get a set of pipes like the Brabus versions.. they actually look cooler than the AMG.. and also side step the poseur issue nicely

Beware of ebay exhaust tips for diesel. I bought a set of dual chrome exhaust tips on Ebay for my 2007 E320 Bluetec;arrived today and inlet diameter is small for my exhaust even though it was advertised as 2003-current compatible; perhaps these are designed for gas engine exhausts that may have a narrower exhaust outlet diameter. They look like very well made exhaust tips but not the right size for my vehicle. I have opened a dispute with paypal since the seller's email is not accepting emails.Originally Posted by cyclrder

I've seen some nice rear bumpers (non AMG) that look stock but will show the dual pipes. Think I am going this route for the E500. Its got enough yank to show the dual pipes with some tips. Not too crazy about exaggerating it to 4 but to each his own.
