2009 E Class interior is horrible!

Could possibly be a styling buck used for design focus groups, whether it makes it in to production exactly like that is to be seen, but to have two different shots that look very similar in shape suggests it is pretty far along in its development, plastics like that are expensive to make molds for.
I am sure it will grow on people. Having just come out of an Audi yesterday (and still being an owner of an S8), I have to say, yes, their interiors are better, but I would rather drive my Mercedes "bank vault on wheels" any day of the week.

Perhaps it is? I mean at the time the test car was built, they would not be that interested about the interior looks (more of the contrary to avoid the design getting public). Couldn't the interior be built from parts from old cars, perhaps electronics partly from a W204 which is why some areas look so similar?

Post #73 worries me. I was hoping it was a fake, but that picture says otherwise. I might just be keeping my 06 longer than usual if that's what the W212 is going to look like.
