at parking lot speeds, when I turn the wheel slightly off center in either direction i feel a slight clunk through the steering wheel, almost like the wheel is slightly loose on the hub, or there is some play somewhere in the steering linkage. The feeling goes away at higher speeds. Has anyone noticed that same?

No - I haven't noticed this in my car. I'll check tomorrow when I take my car out.

Yep. Had this issue on the 07 E350.. It was some bushing in the steering wheel that had to be fixed.
So, is this a common thing, and if so, what is the technical term i should use when I take it in to the dealer?
Thanks in advance,
Rick

You could mention DTB P-B-46.40/53 this may be due to contact between the steering mounting plate and the subframe. To remedy dealer will install washers between the steering mounting plate and subframe.Originally Posted by GBQM

I have a 7/07 build '08, I wonder if this bulletin applies, or if it was running change and already incorporated in to my car. Anyone know?Originally Posted by AndrewAZ

No clue if your having the problem then get it fixed. The 07 350 that had this issue was an end of 06 build.Originally Posted by GBQM

DTB was released JAN07 however I would not take for granted that the fix was installed during production because it could be a problem that for some reason does not affect every vehicle and therefore it is addressed during ownership.Originally Posted by GBQM

Hey guys, thanks for all of the input. I just moved over here from Audiworld, glad to see you are all as helpful and knowledgeable as those folks! I was a bit scared the online world wouldnt be as much fun with MBZ, as my past experience with Benzworld.org was ho hum.Originally Posted by konigstiger
