Newest addition to my car family - 2008 E-350 Sport

First thing I did was remove the obnoxious dealer logo on the front grill...

Before:

After:

I also got the optional wood/leather steering wheel... Matches the interior nicely:

Outside shot of the 18" wheels... 245s up front, 265s in the back:

It's a lease... 3 years... The manual calls for oil changes every 13k miles (it comes with Mobil 1 from the factory)...

I will change the oil ONCE during the 3 years I own the car, at 15k miles... The car will probably be driven about 30k miles during the lease term, so when I turn it in it will be ready for its next oil change... Total cost of maintenance will be less than $50 for 3 years of Mercedes fun

Thats the largest, most obnoxious dealer logo I've ever seen. I can't wait to get rid of my dealer license plate frame.

Yes, it really is... And it interferes with aerodynamics as well... I like to keep the Cd at factory specs

I didn't take pics, but of course they also put license plate frames on the front and back (I took those off as well)

Oh, and they put another logo on the trunk (same one as on the grill) with double stick tape... I am having a body shop remove it today... Then my car will be free of dealer advertising and I'll be ready to roll!

I made it clear to my dealer that if the front bumper was drilled, I would not take delivery of the car. Luckily, my dealer doesn't drill any new cars that come directly to them. I just signed a waiver. The front mounting plate is in the trunk.

I got a good deal (not great)... They ended up throwing in the Wood steering wheel for free at the end... Which is about $1000 installed from the dealer, so not a bad deal!

Ya, when I lived in Cali none of my cars had front license plates... But here in VA there is no such thing as a fix-it ticket... It's straight up $50 each time... No need to fix, but they ticket you ALL time time... And I mean not just the police, but the meter maids who write parking tickets... If you are parked legally at a meter or anywhere, they will give you a $50 ticket for no front plate... So honestly, I would get them once a week at least! So that's too expensive and I caved in and now just get front plates on all my Virginia cars... It's so ugly

I would hate to add the license plate in the front.... going 3 weeks so far and nothing, eventually I might need to add it, or maybe not

Thinking long term...

I live on Long Island, and my 2 week old car did not need a front plate in PA. But my friends have told me of the LIE cops pulling over often for no front plate. So, while it pains me to do so, I just bought a plate bracket on Ebay for for $44 (Roslyn dealer quote $110 plus tax and labor) and will get it ~*!!DRILLED!!*~ on next week.

But I agree with everyone else, the car looks beautiful without it!! I should really snap a few pics this weekend before she goes under the knife (DRILL!!)

Its too late now, but the front plate fixture is a no charge option when you get the car from a dealer. You should have called the selling dealer first. He would have supplied it to you. (My 2004 was from a PA dealership & I told him I needed it so they drilled & mounted the fixture at delivery.)

I ordered and bought my car from a PA dealer and the front plate bracket was pre-installed (by the dealer)

I lived in Santa Clara for 3 years and never got a single front plate ticket even though I got pulled over for speeding multiple times
