Pictures of Rayscar E500 Pewter/Stone
YES I have the car! It's wonderful. Plenty of power and I love the colors. I can see already that stone is going to be hard to keep clean but it sure looks nice. Handles great. I may have some small problems already though. The trunck won't open with the remote even though it worked at the dealership. Also when I left the dealer, it had a full yank of gas. Drove about 20 miles and the gage was almost empty. I was home by then so I did go try to fill the tank. It couldn't have used a whole tank so they appears to be something wrong with the gauge. I love the pano roof. It seems just as quiet as a normal sunroof and has an electric shade to cover both sections. I posted some pictures below. They are not real good shots. The sun was setting so it caused them to be too drak. I try to get better ones. Will post some of the front and rear of the car latter. My wife didn't want the license number to be posted and I don't have any editing software. Overall a wonderful car. Well worth the wait!

I'm really happy for you, rayscar! I'm anxious to see more pictures, too. I am really curious about the pano roof -- I love the looks but worry about the horrid summers we have here in Houston.
Regarding the gas thing you mentioned -- my salesperson said to be careful to always listen for the click when you put it back on after filling up. Otherwise, the instrument panel gauge won't work correctly. I'm sure it's not that simple, I just thought that whoever filled it at the dealer's may have been in a hurry. It's worth mentioning, though.

Congratulations at last rayscar!!!! I am sure that you will be singing praises as I am more and more. I liked the color at once. But I grow more fond of it every day anyway as I do the car on every score.
Have fun and best wishes. Jeff

Rayscar last seen on I-70 in Maryland
I just heard that Rayscar was spotted on a deserted stretch of I-70 in Maryland where it is possible to drive as fast as you want. He gave no indication of returning to his computer to let us know what is going on.
Seriously, Ray, how are things going? If you are like me, you are almost living the commercial where the fellow won't get out of his new E class!!!!

Wait a second...I thought Ray is in the E commercial with the Genie. Isn't that a Pewter/Stone E500 in the commercial with a very happy guy driving the car...??? Anyway, congrats on your car and enjoy...

i was looking at the car today, messing around with the height level of the car, it seems like it goes up more than 1.5 inches, quite amazing, but also, i noticed a couple of days ago that when you use key-less-go, there is a button on the back part of the handle, i am sure everyone knows that, so i was explaining that if you just press that button w/o opening the handle the doors will unlock, but if you hol it for less than a half second more, the whole door opens! that is the wierd sound that comes from the keylessgo.....u just hold it, and it will open the door so that there is on lock on the door, its free....also.....i posted this message to really talk about zaino, and what a difference it makes...i took a pic of the door open, the passenger side, and you can see the inside part of the oor, which is not zaino'ed, and the outside, which has 6 coats of z2 and zfx, i slapped on three more this weekend, but done for a while, if anyone wants to detail there car, this should help you go towards zaino.....this first one is a pic of the door open with the keylessgo

bmms8 Congratulations on your car, I guessed i missed your post on it! Your car looks great, and it is really cool that you have the keyless door entry too!
Zaino work looks good too!
I also noticed the difference on ride height!
Everything on your car looks good, do you have daytime pics?

Gas Gauge
The symptoms you described about the gas gauge reading low soon after a refill have also occured on the late-model W210s. It happened to my 2001 E430, and the dealer replaced the sending unit.
Incidentally, one thing you don't want to ever do is try to add more gas after the gas pump nozzle shuts off. There have been cases posted on the W210 site in which the overfilled gas "erupts" from the filler neck on the car!
