07 E550 Owners: Still happy with your purchase?

I'm considering selling my 2003 E320 (with all of it's minor and major annoyances) and buying a used 2007 E550. I'm not in a big hurry and may wait until the 09 models come out. Just wanted to check to see if any quality issues have started to pop-up. When the 07's came out - everyone's opinion was that the Benz quality issues had been solved. Is that still the opinion - now that a few miles have been racked up?

The differences between an '07 and any earlier year are like night and day. You will not believe how great the '07s are.

Thanks Barry. I'll take that as a happy. Glad to see the initial impressions are still holding up. The 07 might be a car I hold on to for a while.

Re: 07 550

No problems or issues in the first 4 months other than a little inadvertent wheelspin in 1st gear on colder days.

I also upgraded from earlier W211, an 05 E500.

This one looks to be a keeper.

Drive in "C" mode until the weather warms up in the spring and you won't have that problem.

Zero problems with my 2007 after 13 months. (Knock on wood.)

I have an 07 E. Flawless so far with 17,000 mile. The only thing that stinks about the car is the Nav. I bought a new Garmin c330 Nav from Walmart last night for $178.00 The Garmin is so much better than the MB Nav. Mercedes would of been better off slapping my cheap Garmin in the Mercedes dash rather than using their expensive Nav.

I'm very happy with my E550. It's very smooth and quiet - but fast. No rattles or squeeks that typically drive me up the wall.

I test drove the E63 a couple of weeks ago, while I was at the dealer getting my initial service checkover. OMG... A totally different car. Now that's a car that says "yeah I'm talkin' about you...what are you gonna do?"

The New E500 is 5.5 engine which is arround 80 HP more than the below 06 E500, but i still like my 03 E500, I tried the E63, well this made the only reason which make me hate my car, E63 is more comfort and stylish and power , could say totaly diffrent than than any E Class

I know the OP asked for 07 opinions, but since the 08 is the same, 2000 miles into my 08 E550, and I love it. There isn't a car in that price range I'd trade it for.

Thanks for the feedback. I bought my used 2003 E320 somewhat impulsively and found this forum while researching several problems with the car (just before it went out of warranty, luckily). I usually hold on to my cars for 6 to 10 years, so for my next Benz purchase, I'm making sure I do my research first.

I have 6500 miles and all I can say is WOW. I do not regret for one minute that bought the car (probably a first for me). The difference in power is quite amazing, I cannot speak high enough about the engine and suspension combo.

This is definitely the most underrated car sold, period.

I enjoy the responses in this thread. Honestly, I have only seen these cars in the shop for...... mainly tire replacement!! Seriously the 550 is a beast. The only thing I have seen go wrong so far was a camshaft solenoid or two. Luckily that is an easy fix.

My car went in for an off and on inoperative ESP warning message. It wound up lining up with my free initial service so I was not put out of my way at all. The dealership was a pleasure to work with, very similar service to my local Lexus dealer...

I've been nothing but pleased with mine. I purchased mine at the end of December 2006. Not a single problem. It is a pure dream to drive.
I opted not to get the sport package, mainly because I like how easy the 5 spoke wheels are to clean.
