Aftermarket Warranty

Does anyone here have an aftermarket warranty on their 211? I was looking into getting one since my MB warranty expired. Are there any reliable ones for a decent price and does it actually cover mechanical problems? I've heard stories where a customer tries to claim a problem through the aftermarket warranty and they refuse to fix the problem or give them the run around.

I was looking for one a couple of months ago. Seems like the most reputable is Warranty Direct. Their best warranty for 100K miles was going to be 4500.00 or something like that for a true bumper to bumper. I checked around and most companies were in the same ballpark as far as price goes. If you only want a 75K miles it'll be cheaper. Keep in mind that the mileage they state is total mileage on the odometer, not 75K additional miles.

I thought it best to just set aside a few thousand dollars and earmark it for car repairs.

Mercury

I bought my car last month & I decided to go with Mercury(yes same company as the insurance) Platinum, Bumper to Bumper, 4 year or 100K, no deductibles, extended warranty for $3,200. I still got like 5k left on the MBz factory warranty, so I haven't use it yet. The dealer told me that they are one of the best extended warranty companies around. I'm in california so I don't know if they offer it in every state, check them out. And yes there are somethings that most extended warranties don't cover like normal wear and tear items. As I have read in the booklet it covers about 80-90% of the car components. The way I look at it "I rather get some help than none at ALL" especially when it comes to european cars when part and labors are really expensive. Hope this helps and Good Luck!!

Sounds about right. Warranties for E320's are a bit cheaper than the E500's due to stuff like airmatic, and 4zone climate, etc...
